Pyramid Lake SoCal

just moved to LA and looking for places to ride. Anyone been out on Pyramid? How is it?...skiing/wakeboarding is allowed there right? Any suggestions for other lakes are appreciated as well...I've only bee to Castaic so far and that was a madhouse. Will probably take occasional trips to Lake Mead and other lakes that are more than a few hours away, but I'm looking for a relatively good lake to ride at for quick day trips. Where should I go?

most lakes around the LA area are pretty crowded on the weekends. you need to get out on the water by 6 am, to get maybe a good two hours of water. check out Elsinore, which is a little ways East (?) of you. there are some people on here that have ski course passes for castaic as well. you might be able to hook up with them for a ride on the decent water. good luck. if you make it a little further north, I usually ride at Piru real early on the weekends, and occasional weekday.
