Is there a wedge or something similar than can be universally used on any boat, especially outboards?

With an outboard you should be able to simply trim up the engine. If that is not good enough look into a product called a dolphin. (Note I have not had an outboard for about 10 years, but that is what i used.)

Add more weight...if you still are not happy with it, upgrade boats.

The "Dolefin" is hydrofoil designed to provide upward lift to the rear end of your boat. This is especially helpful for underpowered boats pulling skiers out of the water. I had one on my old I/O it reduced bow rise, and helped get the boat on plane more quickly.

Malibu offers the “Wedge” on their inboards. The Wedge is also a hydrofoil, but it provides a downward lift, I think that I’ve read that the Wedge has the same effect as adding 1000 pounds of ballast.

The Dolefin would work against a Wedge, so if you were to find a wedge for an outboard it would counteract the Dolefin.

DISCLAIMER – Don’t blame me if you attempt the following and SINK YOUR BOAT, cause injury or other damage. If you were to install a Dolefin upside down it seems like it would provide the effect that you want BUT BE VERY CAREFUL. I’m sure that Malibu put a lot of effort, engineering, and testing in to the development of the wedge. The Dolefin is designed to provide a lot of lift at slow speeds. Installed UPSIDE DOWN it just might SINK YOUR BOAT.

I don’t think that the Wakezup can be installed on an I/O or outboard. The text in the link discusses replacing the ruder with the Wakezup hydrofoil. I assume that they mean inboard rudders.

Bigshow, you are correct but that is not the whole story. A dolphin on a level or negitive trimmed engine will cause upward lift on the transom, however a dolphin on a positive trimmed engine will pull the transom down in the same way a wedge does.

Alex, try this link. There are a number of hydrofoils, good luck.
