What would your opinion on 4 rev8s with 200 watts each vs 2 rev10s with 400 watts each?

Yes. Retired earlier last year.
Some of the basic principles from above still apply. The Rev10 with a lower resonance midbass driver and larger pod displacement reaches lower but the swing is not nearly as extreme.
In this case the surface area of four 8" surpass the surface area of two 10". So I have to give the doubled up Rev8s a moderate SPL advantage when using the identical total power.
This is much closer because both considerations are from the newer Wetsounds Rev series. Each group has the edge in one area.
This is personal and subjective but I like the upfront midrange of the Rev8s. You miss absolutely nothing with the Rev8. I'm also probably in the minority on this. The Rev10 has a rising characteristic above the vocal fundamentals that accentuates the upper harmonics and highs and is slightly withdrawn in the middle which nicely attenuates the horn impact through the vocal range. This sound shaping takes the strident edge off vocals.
To put a visual perspective on what I hear, the Rev8 has kind of a subtle and soft bubble in the middle of the overall response kind of like a convex shape curves outward in the middle. The Rev10 has kind of a slight and soft null in the middle of the overall response kind of like a concave curves inward in the middle. Neither has any hint of abrupt bias, tilt or peaks.
So I see this as a much closer comparison.
