Ok I am ready to buy a board. I am 5'9 185. I am still a beginner but I can clear the wake do some easy grabs. I am looking at 140 or 142 sized board. What would be a good board to help me progress? I want to push hard to get a 180 landed since I always seem to slide out and try a 360. I have been riding my friends board but he is like 5'6 or 5'7 and the board is sized to him. Your opinions please. Thanks

You have to get out and ride a couple boards, then come back and tell us what you did and didn't like about the boards. Then we can suggest a good one to you.

On the 180's work on riding switch first. Mimic the edge and position that you would assume when you land. Once you get that down, work on surface 180's, and mimic that same edge position. Once you get that down, try an ollie 180, then an indside out 180, then wake to wake. If you learn 'em that way, it will be super solid, and most likely look better too. It will also help to have that base when you go to learn a 3.

If you absolutely can not demo then get a board with a continuous rocker. Maybe LF Trip, Hyperlie 3DS, Ronix Covin, or LF Team. Maybe even the Ronix Vault because I find that toeside edging is hard enough already, but riding switch it's a pain in the a$$ and the shape of the vault would help you land that 180. Just my .02 cents.
