Need help ID ing a board

Its an o'brian "freestyle". About 141cm. One fin on each end, channels down each underneath side. No fancy graphics. Simple paint scheme. Would like to find out the year, and handling features of this board.

i don't see any board named "freestyle"...?

"simple paint scheme"-- is it all one color? like a silvery blue color or orange color?
my best guess with the descriptions you are giving would be an obrien "Evil Twin" 1997

can you take a pic of the board?
do you see any other lettering besides "obrien" and "freestyle"
any molded in fins?
what is the depth of the fins? 2 inches or so?

my guess is that the board you have is fairly old. and the handling, though not bad, is "out of date" really, especially if you plan to do anything more than just cutting arround on it.... BUT again this is based on the assumption that the board is from the 90's

ya, that board would definitely fit the "out of date" collection. ESPECIALLY the bindings. I would not attempt to do much more than simple jumps with those boots... or uhh wake sandals.

if you plan on keeping the board a while AND you plan on doing more than cutting around, then definitely get some better boots so you will have better boot-board response (more control) and even more importantly, so you wont risk twisting an ankle or something.

then later you can get a better board... that is if this fits your thinking, budget, whatever.

Thanks Jeremy, for your tackfullness, LOL. Any idea on the year?? I am a little concerned about the "sandals". I will look for some better bindings. I am only a beginner, and will just use this board for learning. Thanks.

not sure on the year still, but the design is still pre 2000 for sure.

there are some guys on this site that know a lot more about obrien then i do... maybe they can help with the other details.

Glenn,

I have been riding O'Brien boards since 1997 and that board has been around since at least 1994-1995. I actually have never seen that board. If you put some decent bindings on it like Jeremy suggested it would work for carving around and getting down your fundamentals. Other then that, I would hold on to it just because it's so old and in such good shape.

That was my very first board. I got it at sports authority for my birthday when I was 13, Thanks for the memories I had some good times on that thing!

Guys, thanks so much for all the info. I will start looking for some good bindings. I may even have to invest in a good wakeboard boat!!! My ski boat will do for now.
Anyways, I knew it wouldn't take long for you all to come thru for me about the info.
