hi, i bought a used 2005 x-45 and would like to flush the engine with clean water after every use. is there a better way than the fake-a-lake? can i attach a water hose to the intake? can i do it myself (medium mechanical ability)? thanks.

Most people use something like this:

You can also fabricate one yourself with common parts if you don't want to pay for the off-the-shelf solution.
