You know, I wonder every day why I can't live out in California and be surrounded by wakeboarding, but you have to work with what you have. I've been riding at Lanier for a couple of years and haven't really found anyone else who want's to ride or at least rides frequently. Is anybody out there living up there this summer? I mean wakeboarding's fun anyway you do it, but its better when you've got a full boat (not to mention the wake's heavier). I just got a Tige 22V and I'd like to share in some wake to wake joy. Respond to the thread and let's get some groups together.

You might want to hit uphttp://www.wakeboardatlanta.com. I was just down there on vacation, and saw a least five different wakeboard boats during the week.

Charles,

I live in Roswell, GA and ride at Lanier as much as I can...usually only about 1-2 times a month though...not as much as I would like to. I have a boat right now, but will possibly be selling in the next couple of months. I would be more than willing to go out and ride with you and your crew anytime and would be happy to throw in money for gas and help with the boat upkeep. Shoot me an email sometime (see my profile) whenever you would like to go out riding.

I live in Buckhead and picked up my malibu about a month ago. If the weather is good, I am up on lanier about every weekend. I launch at Lazy Dayz and then from there go wherever. We are generally on the south side of the lake. I'm in a blue, white and black 23LSV.

The drive from Macon is about 2 1/2 hours so its pretty rough. I'll be living there for the next couple of weeks, and I've got a friend who lives in Macon who might make the trip up.

Scotty - I'm up on the Northside of the lake at the beginning of the Chestatee river. You should come up and launch at toto creek in Dawsonville. I'd love to ride behind a Malibu, and you should see what the Tige can spit out.

erin ,
i got a spot in senic shores off of holly harbor lane over by goat island . we could use another girl onboard because i think alisa feels intimidated since he is a beginner. let me know if you are in the area ready for a ride.

I ride up there on the north end of Lanier not far from Gainesville Marina. There are two good coves up there. I'm in a blue and white Toyota Epic, if you see one, it's definitely me! Come say hi.

Hey Erin,
We are heading up there today finally! Its been too long since I have been to Sinclair. Bringing our new boat, fresh off its break-in period and oil change. We are staying at a little place at/near a point not too far from where the power lines cross the lake on the main channel. Look for our boat, and stop by if you like!

Rich,
Not far at all. Anywhere from 30-45 minutes. It really depends on where you go. My buddy who works for Mercer is coming to meet us there. Thats how long he said it takes to get to our place right there in Milledgeville.

Scotty,
6 mile will be a mess all weekend, as will the rest of the south end. You might try Young Deer Creek, but it will suck too. You gotta go north to get any good water.
Old     (project3060)      Join Date: May 2001       05-26-2006, 1:52 PM Reply
The north end of the lake is packed with bass fishers. You really need to stay down at the south end of the lake for good water.
Old     (cyclonecj)      Join Date: Jul 2001       05-26-2006, 6:22 PM Reply
That's fine Ray, have fun down there. I'll be up north with the glass and the bass.

the only good place to be on lanier this weekend is cocktail cove. make sure you sit close to the golf course and bring your airhorn.
Old     (project3060)      Join Date: May 2001       05-26-2006, 6:52 PM Reply
I actually ride up in Gainesville but you don't want to advertise the good water conditions up on the north end of the lake
Old     (scottyr7)      Join Date: May 2006       05-27-2006, 5:50 AM Reply
Yeah, I wasn't planing on doing a whole lot of riding all weekend because of the zoo that we call lake lanier. I have a friend with a lake house at six mile so I am normally just hanging around there and on their dock.

The tourney is going to be a private lake up in Rome. Here is the mapquest directions http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory =&searchtab=home&formtype=address&popflag=0&latitu de=&longitude=&name=&phone=&level=&cat=&address=12 30+Fosters+Mill+Road+SW%2C&city=&state=&zipcode=30 161

You can call Ambush or Watersports Central to sign up, or show up that morning. You can email me if you need more info snead@wakeboardamerica.com

There are a ton of private lakes around ATL, the slalom nazi's own them all and typically do no let wakeboarders on them.
