running stock ballast, 2 550's in the back and sometimes a walkway sack depending on how many people are in the boat (usually 5-7).

What are you x2 owners setting your KDW and NN at?

Also,
Has anybody ever had to change the CS?

i will try to remember to check mine. There is a setting for how much it overshoots before it engages and that seemed to be one of the keys for mine. Its at the max. I ride 2500+ ballast.

Zeus. Are you having trouble holding speed? I've tried 2 400# bags in the back of my X-30 along with the stock ballast and my PP cannot hold a constant speed at around 23 mph. If I put 400-600 in the front all problems stop.

The key to mine is to make the boat overshoot the speed, just a little, so when it backs down, it does not go below the intended speed. From a stand still, I always go 90 degrees from neutral and it works great. Mine used to engage early and never really got to speed.

Holding speed is not the issue, When it grabs it overshoots a little, which is expected. The issue is when it doesnt grab at all, as if its not engaged. Everything on the gauge is reading correctly, rpms and speed, it just doenst grab and accelerates right through the set point

Up your KDW by 5 on the perfect pass until the problem stops.More weight more KDW.

to clear it up, is it overshooting (which it should by a bit), engaging and then falling so far to unengage and then won't get engaged? Or simply doesn't catch sometimes?

check to make sure you cables are TIGHTLY connected to your battery. that was my problem (we think.)

Zeus. We just had troubpe with our X-Star doing the same thing, but only, it never engaged at all. We had minor faulty wiring that one day in the shop fixed.
