I have access to this camera. Ok actually my dad bought it to take Video of my son's Sports. We have recorded some great footage and now want to down load it to the computer to edit. The problem we are having is we can not get it to down load. The computer does not recognize the camera. Of course my dad tossed the instruction manual. I have a Cannon ZR 80 that works fine downloading the video to the computer. I was wondering if there is a certain setting that needs to be programmed on the HDR-FX1 HDV HandycamŽ. Any advice would be great??

did you shoot in SD or HD?? if you shot in HD you are going to have to invest in some new software that supports HDV cameras... like Avid express pro HD, or others... im sure "toolfan" knows more about the HD realm.

Cody is right. You will need some better software to run the HDV. It uses the HDV codec which requires a lot of processor power as well as customer software.

why don't you read the instruction manual. It's pretty self explanatory if you just look at it.

You sure you know what your doing with that camera. Why don't you let your brother use it. He makes better videos then you anyway.
