Board comparison? 08 Shane ltd vs. 08 Watson ltd?

Looking for some thoughts here on how these two boards ride. I'm going 08 because it's cheaper, going LTD because I need the grind base and might buy off eBay with the 30% off right now through PayPal/Microsoft. Hard to pass that up!

I will use the board 95% of the time at the cable park (hence the grind base) so pop isn't as big of a deal except for ollies. I mainly care about how the fins will hold up to kickers/sliders, how soft the board lands and surface tricks. Last season I had an 07 138 Trip and loved it but the fins are literally less than half now due to being abused like a red headed step child. That board is officially retired but I loved how when on edge it had good control but when flat, it was smooth and fast. I had an 07 Murray I bought to thrash at the cable but it was too slow and felt slow so I sold it. I've only been riding for one season so while I'm very comfortable on a wakeboard, I'm still new and realistically, I'll be wakeskating more this year but I need a new wakeboard and the grind base will let it last much longer than one season... I hope.

Shane vs. Watson. Which is faster yet controlled on edge? Which lands softer? Discuss.

The Watson is a sick ride. The Shane will stay on edge pretty good though, with the cupped fins. But I have heard it is slower than the Watson.

Are you sure the Shane isn't faster?

the shane is faster for sure. but i really liked my watson when i used to use it. the lyman is a really fast board with very soft landings and it is a durable board. if you can get a hold of a LTD lyman you should try it for sure, but i think they are pretty rare.

but between the two boards, i would go with the shane

I meant to put faster than the Watson, my bad. Since you ride mostly at a cable park I would go with the Ronix Bill. But between the Shane and the Watson, go with the Shane.
