Looking for owners or previous owners/riders of the following boats.

How was the ride?
How was the wake?
Good surf wake?
How much ballast would be ideal?
Is that a fair price?

I just sold my I/O and am now shopping for a new to me boat. I have a wife, kid, baby girl(jan 2010), and a great dane.

30-35k is my limit.

First up
04 23ft MB Sports. I know nothing about these boats, please fill me in on anything and everything about them.

I have been eyeballing a sanger as well, but being I live in Ohio there are no close dealers for sales or service. Im ok with buying a boat from that far away, but would service be an issue, or should pretty much and good marina be able to work on a sanger if need be?

If you are looking at SAN's, try and find an 02+. The freeboard was redesigned in 02 with narrower gunnels, more vertical transom, 3 piece back hatches with electric pushbutton release, and jump seat style rear seats. There's a little more room and the back seats won't push out of place when you are stepping back into the boat from the sundeck.

You should be able to find a used 02 for $30k out the door. Good luck however you decide to go.

Take a look at the 05 22v. looks like a nice boat it appears to have factory ballast and if you add about 5 peeps to that the wake gets real nice. I run factory ballast + peeps and its fine. I have added more for surfing and just to see the difference in the wakeboard wake.Surfs both side well and the wakeboard wake is great. With an extra 800lb on top of stock the wake was larger and harder. I myself just have no reason to run that much weight.I have on 03 its the same hull and ballast sys. 05 has a different tower and different style seat cushion. The boat handles great and has plenty of power. Take it for a ride you will love it.

If you dont care how far away it is look at the 07' Mobius LSV for $31k in the WW for sale classifieds. I have the same boat and love everything about it.... I actually like his better than mine. Someone make that dude an offer.

If that 05 22v is the boat I believe it is, it was a year old demo at that same dealer when I bought my 06 from then in Feb 06. 2 years later, they still had it. It was always uncovered, full of dirt and bird crap. That dealer lost their Tige franchise in June of 06 because they SUCK. If that boat has a gray hull and snake skin vinyl, then run, run very fast. Looks like it is sitting on the trailer that was under the 06 22I they had at the same. The 05 didnt have a custom trailer and they wanted to sell it to me with an alum bowrider trailer.

From my personal experience, out of a all the boats you mentioned, I would go with the any of the Tige boats, they have very good wakes, however I do not feel the same about the interior materials.
however either one will put out a nice wake..that is IF that is what you are looking for..just my 2 cents

Mechanical service shouldn't be a problem for the Sanger, they run mercruiser engines which has the biggest service network in the world.
