help!!! i'm sorta new to wakeboarding, and i'm wondering how tight i should lace up my bindings. i like them super tight for the best response but it kills my ankles when i take a bad fall, should i loosen up a bit or what, but i don't want to loose any response.

Having your ankles locked in is super important, so i tighten mine all the way down, but to me, it sounds like you are using bindings that are too small for you

if your ankles are hurting on falls you may want to get a new set that have more support and come up higher on your leg. i get my bindings a size smaller than i should and crank em down so tight i loose circulation 5-10 minutes into my ride

if you take a (bad) fall, aren't your feet supposed to release from the bindings?? so if you tighten them all the way like i am doing, my board won't come off but it feels like it wants to rip my feet off when i fall (hence, sore ankles), believe me i fall a lot trying to reach the other side of the wake

pro model bindings generally do not release even on hard falls.
