Walt, we have done the cabins (We RV'd) at Spanish Flats and camped there for Thanksgiving quite a few times. If you have an outdoor portable firepit, it makes it nice to hang outside. I might be interested in coming out for some fun :-)

Peter, Have You stayed here ? http://www.spanishflatresort.com/?src=overture

I personally have never stayed in the cabins but we have camped there many times. Last time we stayed at Spanish Flat we used an RV. The cabins are fine to use, although overpriced for what they are...there are not a lot of choices.

I am sure you recognize this guy. They came out and rode with us over Thanksgiving.

You do not need to worry about reservations. If there are more than two cabins rented it would be amazing. That way you can watch the weather and see how it plays out. One year we camped in the rain there. Broke my new truck in with plenty of mud on and in it :-)

This is from one of our camping trips there.
Old    whitechocolate            10-23-2004, 6:19 PM Reply
I have rented the cabin's before. Peter is right about them being a bit much for what your get, But there are no other option's. I think they go for $70 a night, You can park your boat right in front of the cabin's and there is a fire pit ect, So It might work out good. I think I woud just come up for the day.

So what is the said plan? Count me in for some fun in the sun...errr water

Are you gonna load that MB down? See above wake that launched Shawn.
Old    rebecmb79            11-01-2004, 1:59 PM Reply
I will load it to the gills...it has 1600lbs of ballast capacity...he will have no problem launching!

Tammy, There is always room for one more.

Cool, keep me posted! And Walt tell everyone my boat will be able to launch Shawn no problem...and were you surprised about the boat on Saturday or what?

Rebecca,I was really surprised that Jeremy kept that under his hat for so long ! I would of been blabbing about it to everyone! I spoke with Him today and He gave me a update on his injury.
Old     (peter_c)      Join Date: Sep 2001       11-01-2004, 2:29 PM Reply
Worried Rebecca? I am just kidding around. My thoughts are if you are gonna ride a demo boat it should be how the boat will be weighted after purchase. Some dealers do allow extra weight some do not. I have plenty of sacs to offer up :-) In fact I need to get rid of a few...

Tammy, thanks for the pic of us. I look half dead after riding a set. Hopefully the water conditions are like this
Old    rebecmb79            11-01-2004, 2:39 PM Reply
It actually isn't going to be a "demo boat" it is gonna be my new boat and I don't mind loading it up at all, isn't that what it is for???? But I always fill the ballast tanks when I demo our store boats too...you have got to see what your new boat is gonna be able to do loaded up right?
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       11-01-2004, 2:43 PM Reply
fill the ballast tanks? do you add more? i don't care what any dealer/salesperson tells you...stock ballast is never enough.

peter, how much you lookin' to get for the sacks, and how many? you sellin' the pump, too?
Old    rebecmb79            11-01-2004, 2:57 PM Reply
Well being that we have only had the boat out once we haven't added more to this boat yet but once one of us gets good enough to need more ballast I think some lead in the bow would be the way to go plus there is a ton of room in the back storage compartments for sacs too but the stock ballast makes the wake pretty huge!
Old     (peter_c)      Join Date: Sep 2001       11-01-2004, 2:58 PM Reply
Joe, I am not looking to get anything for them. A mouse chewed the crap out of them so they have at least 15 patches each, but they do not leak. I am not going to ship them though, and at this point it is still a thought more than anything. They were in my way yesterday Grrrr... We have way to much junk in the garage, actually I think three of the sacks and a phat seat are in the sports room of the house. Not sure how many pumps we have right now. I keep going back and forth on buying another boat so I can bring my dog.

I am with Joe on the stock ballast is never enough. That is why I said load it down in the first place like it will really be ridden. Ok so Joe and I are spoiled by big wakes...but isn't that what this sport is about?
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       11-01-2004, 3:00 PM Reply
rebecca, don't think you have to be "good enough" to benefit from additional weight. believe it or not, a bigger wake will make learning easier.

peter, just sack up and get a boat. if your dog rips the interior, so be it. they're dogs. but, that's what interior repair shops are for.
Old    rebecmb79            11-01-2004, 3:13 PM Reply
Peter, you just said the wrong thing "going back and forth on buying another boat"...I am the salesperson who said stock ballast was enough in the MB for me when I ordered my MB three months ago from the store I work at. Have you had a chance to ride behind an MB since they changed their hull design in 2004? I would love to give you a ride...can you come out Friday? My boat only has the 1600lbs but out V3 has 2100 standard and the 23' B52 has 2600lbs...
Old     (peter_c)      Join Date: Sep 2001       11-01-2004, 3:52 PM Reply
Joe, I was never worried about the boat interior. Did you ever see my 90lb chocolate lab? She did not do any noticable damage to the Nauty. The interior looked great when I sold it. I am more worried about payments as I can not pay cash for a boat at this time. I just paid off the Suburban which is a great feeling. The zero percent financing for three years is the main reason I bought a new truck.

"Peter, you just said the wrong thing "going back and forth on buying another boat"" Does it make a difference if I own a boat now or not? I do not need to own a boat, it would just be nice to be able to bring my dog with me.

Friday...can I bring my dog? She is shedding like a big dog. I might be interested, and should know more in day or so, what time and where? FYI...I am quite open minded when it comes to boat brands, but do put them through their paces

The dog is cute an all but I am really more of aa cat person, so sorry the pooch has to stay on shore. I am meeting up with Shawn and Kami at noon at the Lake Sonoma public boat ramp if you would like to come along! I have a no interest no payment thing going right now for four months to get you through the rainy season on a new boat if that interests you anymore!

I use to sell Nautiques, they are a nice boat no doubt, much better than a lot of the competition but I bought an MB, I could have gotten a Nautique at cost when I use to sell them and there is a reason or two why I didn't buy one...I don't need to "sell" the MB, the Nautiques took a lot of "selling" and it isn't just because of price

Rebecca how much do the MB's go for?
Old    rebecmb79            11-02-2004, 4:25 PM Reply
Well right now I've got some pretty sweet prices going because this time of year we don't sell a lot of boats so any sale is a good sale right now. The standard B52 with 1600lbs of ballast, perfect pass, tower with racks, depth finder, CD stereo with sub and amp, billet extras, bimini top, storage cover, bow filler cushion, wind damn, pop up bolster seat, tilt steering, Zieman trailer with spare tire and zip in tie downs and probably more things I forgot to mention is usually $46,418...MSRP is $59648...but take delivery of it by December 31 and we drop the price to $43500. That is actually a bigger discount than at our boat shows. Plus, did I mention I go out with you on your boat to show you how to use all of the options...that in itself is worth a bundle....hee hee
