I just noticed a small crack in the fiberglass under one of my seats when I lifted it up to clean it. It's only about 2 inches long, but Should I put something on it so it doesn't keep running? If so... What??

In my experience, there is probably nothing you can apply to help the situation. I feel like the only real option would be to get the gelcoat repaired. If your boat is under warranty, have the manufacturer fix it, if not, I would just watch it and see if it is spreading. If not, since it appears to be hidden, I would just forget about it.

haha no I was being silly.

MC salesmen on this forum always go on and on about how the fiberglass seat bases are superior. This instance points out that is not always true

anyway, if I were you, I would do the following:
1) root cause analysis: try and find out what caused the crack
2) solution: figure out how to keep the cause from happening again or fix and strengthen the weak area so it won't fail again. Keep in mind this could chase the problem to another area.

I doubt mc will fix it. I had those on an mc. They don't cause any problems under the seat just look terrible. They are common in an mc.
