Hi All,
My wife and I have our own boards and host newbies and w2w riders that don't have their own boards. I'd like to buy a decent board for our boat visitors to play on so we don't have to lend our boards (change the binding positions) every time someone wants to ride. Riders foot size 7 - 11, 120lbs to 200lbs - any ideas on what might be a good board/binding choice?

CWB Sol 142
CWB Torq L-XL

The Sol is a great beginner board and I have yet to not get anyone up on that board.

thanks Jay - I tried the cheap combo pack - hydroslide I think - and both bindings pulled out of the board on a mellow fall. I took the board back to Sportmart and they gave me my money back, but some folks lost 2 days of riding since the board wasn't really in riding condition. David - the CWB sounds like it was a good one for you so I might give that one a try. I love the sport and want to get everyone in the boat into it as well - it helps when a decent board is around that is easy to play on. thanks!

I have a Motive 140 with Hyperlite Murrays on it - you can get this for around $ 200 on this board and it's a great, very stable set-up for newbies.

we have a hyperlite state just for that. it was a combo when i bought it two years ago. it wasn't that much and has been a really good board.

Is it time for you to upgrade? I never buy boards just for guests. I just keep one of my old boards/bindings when I update my stuff. Right now the boat board is a 02 HL Premier with LF UltaSucs and it gets the job done.

CWB SOL is a good beginner board. I use it exclusively myself (been boarding about 1.5 yrs) and any guests use it. They have to use the settings how they are though...I don't change the bindings around.

My boat board is my old 02 Absolute Plat w/ LF alphas. Not a bad steup for someone who doesnt have their own, lol...

i guess i was referring to a cheap combo package from like Hyperlite, CWB, Liquid. i would never buy a board from Sportmart, Walmart, etc...

Ya the CWB Sol and CWB Faze are great beginner boards and come in package deals with Seven or Torq Bindings.
The Sol and Faze come in 134cm and 141cm.
The 134 is good for up to 180lbs
The 141cm is good for 160lbs and up.

I have a substance 142 w/ xl elements I'm selling for $200 Basically brand new. I had it as a boat board but almost everyone that comes out with me has their own so now I don't need it, heck I hardly ever used it.

Go with the motive 140,( $299.99) or the state if you want to spend a little more.

I would also say go with a cheap combo package, i know that big 5 carries some cheap combos, like under 200 bucks, obviously not the top name brand stuff, but it works for beginners.

I would go with either CWB Sol or Pure with torq bindings. Torq bindings for sure because they are so user friendly and work with many different foot sizes.

I've got a like new condition LF Omega 135 with size M alpha bindings and a pair of brand new LF Fusion size L bindings I'd sell for around $320.00 shipped, or trade for a new pair of LF Watson size 9-10 bindings. I'd be happy to send pics. (let me know) I ride a LF Fish now, I haven't used the Omega this year at all. Got it Brand new late last summer. So, You'll get an excellent intermidiate/advanced board in size weight range specified, and two, that's right, two sets of bindings. That way you can accomodate a variety of foot sizes (the range specified).

Whatever you get the best bindings for a lot of different foot sizes would be the CWB Torq. They also have the Hinge Tech on them which makes them easier to get into, so you wont have to use soap or help them to much getting into their bindings. If you get a board boot combo its favorably cheaper.

I would also second the torq.....easy to get in and out of and inexpensive. As far as the board,I would say the substance would be a great beginner board but it's a little easier to recommend bindings then a board IMO.
