My son is 10 and weighs about 75 Lbs and has never rode before but he wants to try, what would be a good package for him?

I would like to keep the price low because I don't know if he will like it or not; and I don't want to drop $300 + and him not like it or be able to do it.

I would like to spend around 150 for the board and the bindings, anyone have one to sell in that range?

goto a shop and get a demo package together.. for like a week.. that way if he likes it.. he can try out different boards that he likes, and if he doesnt.. then you just walk away.. whats there not to like!?!?!?

BTW ditch the glasses before you lose an eye

What size is your board/bindings (I see the Faze/Seven combo, nice )

He could just learn to get up on that.

We don't have shops around here, just boatersworld and west marine, and I don't think they will let you demo a board.

I don't were the glasses to look cool my eyes are extremely sensitive to light; without them I could only keep my eyes open for about 10 seconds then the splitting headache sets in.

The sunglasses are Uvex safety glasses so they won't shatter, hopefully

My board is a 141 and size XL bindings, he tried last year and his feet just flew out of them when we started

I do have an old O'brien 137 I could probably just get him some bindings and he could learn on that, or do you think the board would be to big for him?

The Motive by Hyperlite is a great board for the kids. Very easy to ride. My son learned on a 119. You can find them on line pretty cheap. Get ahold of Grizzly or boarders best buy.

I would recomend an LF Nemisis Package. We sold alot at boat shows to parents who wanted to get their kid's into the sport. You can get them in 111cm, or 118cm, so the sizes are very child friendly.

Look around for 07' boards to save extra money.

My son is 12...80 lbs and he just went from a 119 to a 125 State. It fits him perfect. I think anything less than 125 is too small and more than 132 would be too big. The Motive is definately probably the best beginner board ever made...but I think a 119 is too small.

It doesnt matter what board you get him at that age or skill level, get what fits the budget.
