How'd they do this??

Anyone seen anything like this before? I know it doesn't pertain to boarding but i could see where it would be awesome if it was.....looks like he brought motion into stills. After Effects maybe? Pretty cool tho but looks like you have to pay if you want this... 5 pic show runs you $1000!

They did something like this in the Shaun White White album DVD a few years back.. it is sweet and I would love to know how to do it as well!

Looks like some pans & zoom along with cropping and masks to me - very tastefully done. With all the resolution available to these high mega pixel DSLR's one can crop quite a bit without any quality hit.

After effects for sure. They took the images and cut out the characters from the background and pushed them into z-space to give the images depth and a sense of 3-d space then added a camera. Here is one I did for one of my first school projects, but I was not allowed to use any 3-d (Z-space) or cameras. It is all flat on the same plane then each images was keyframed and animated separately.

yes it does, with ideal photographs you can resize the canvas without skewing the subject. but honestly this appears to be more of a flash mothion tween than a photoshop thing.
i think, from what i have read, the cs4, action does not allow a gradual motion effect. i could be wrong. i am not sure the extent of it yet. that said this seem a lot more like a flash thing animation.

i think it is simply the subject and background being two separate entities and being resized independently of each other with a motion tween which gives a unique look. if the subject gets bigger faster than the background it will appear as if the subject is moving towards the camera. it seems quite simple really.

i could be way off but who knows.

I was thinking one could do something like this with Apple's Motion 3 as well.

It could be done in Flash but done faster and easier in After Effect

The movement in the brides vail is just an animated displacement map in AE
