Winch designs or plans

So my parents just bought a new place and on our property in a 1 acre pond, so the first thing that comes into my mind is rails and a winch, I dont have the cash to just go out and buy a grinch so this winter I am looking into building a winch and I want to know if any of you guys have built one yourself and would be willing to share the plans. Give an estimate on how much I will be looking at spending in materials and what not. Thanks guys!
