line tension question

i was just wondering about how everyone says dont flatten out on the wake.

is that because all your line tension is lost if you flatten out or is it because of some other reason

you have to hold your edge all the way through the wake. you do have to straighten up some so you don't land on your ass but yes it is so you don't loose line tension (loading the line) because this is what springs you into the air.
