what is the difference between 2003, 2004 and 2005 X2? is 2005 the first year for swivel board racks and newer tower? oh, and is the X1 going to survive 2007? (Message edited by brucemac on July 11, 2006)

The difference between the '03,'04 and '05 is just the tower, wakeboardracks and the graphics.ohh and the color of gauges.

In 05 they also switched to either heavier Vinyl or high density foam like you see in the Xstar. Besides that....Ed covered it. 05 was the first year for those racks I asked a reliable source. He said there was talk of retiring that hull which I don't see happening. That would be the biggest mistake ever.

so, what is the tower on the 2004 called? 2003 is zero-flex flyer right? what is 2004 and 2005? (i like 04 and 05 better). i'm really trying to do my homework here sorry to ask. also one more question since you guys are listening. is it possible for one guy to push a dual axle x2 on a flat driveway into the garage turning it about 38 degrees? i'm not superman, but i'm not a wussy either. how about a single axle? obviously dual would be better, but i'm not that good of a driver and i don't think i have enough room to maneuver it in there that way unless by hand. currently i can push my little i/o no sweat, but it's like 2000lbs dry!

I could stand corrected....but I am pretty sure that 04 was the last year of the Zero Flex Tower. That's what Ed has (I think) I say no on the pushing thing. I have moved my trailer a foot of two with a lot of work. But, I also have 1000 pounds of lead in dere. Single axle would be much easier to pivot your 38 degrees.

so then is the new tower on the 05 X-2 and 06 X-1 still a zero-flex just a new name, or another brand all together? and did they switch towers mid-season on the 04's? i swear i've seen both styles.

MC came out with throttle-by-wire, MPFI (I think on one engine at least) and offered their own MC cruise control w/i those years.

03 to 04 differences, carpet is a lighter color on the 03's, the boardracks and graphics are different. 04 to 05 differences, tower, first year with the swivel boardracks, graphics change again, dash is ball milled billet aluminum, different gauges, mcx has throttle by wire with cruise control. interior trim changes from year to year as well.

Oh yeah...how could I forgot Throttle BW and speed control. Didn't MC buy Zero Flex or something for the capacity to produce their own tower? I thought I heard something like that.

I think you will find a dual axle trailer is easier to manuever by vehicle vs. a single axle trailer. Either way moving them by hand will be tough. Overtons sells a trailer dolly you could try but it is still alot of weight to push around. A trailer & wakeboat is heavier than most cars.
