That's actually pretty small compared to what I've seen! Most of them are twice as big. Big enough to swallow you whole!

My Cousin caught that fish near Union Piont. There was a four blade prop in it's belly. I'm not sure of the pitch of the prop, or the make, but I could find out. There was also some CF numbers in there - couldn't make them out. It was good eatin! You're right Stefani - I have seen bigger! Rene - It is the Delta - O.K. It was cought on 20lb. test.

That's a great pic. That pic ended up in our club Newsletter this month too. My neighbor at the island lost the outboard on his alu. boat a few years ago on Old River. He hit something and it just flew off the boat! He sorta hired a diver on a Bro deal arrangement to look for it. The guy went down for about 5 minutes and then called it. He said it was the ugliest, murkiest, blackist water he'd ever dived in and he started freakin out when he couldn't see more than 6 inches with his best dive light. Chad, you thought I was joking with my "Loch Ness" monster comment? Seriously though, is that one of those cats they get in the Mississippi where the guy actually reaches under logs and stuff, grabs it and then wrestles it onto land?

For those who have seen bigger, perhaps not. That is a world record (pending official word) blue catfish that was caught at Lake Texhoma, a lake about an hour north of Dallas. It was in all of the news around here when it was caught. If I remember correctly, it was 123 lbs. The guy who caught it was using something like 20 lb test line fishing off of the shore.

I'm not buying this! Would that fish thrash around so much that you couldn't hold it like that? Looks like a fake rubber fish to me! like something they make for the movies!

Dude, think what you will, but that exact same picture was in the Dallas Morning news and on all the local Dallas stations about a month ago. Beleive it or not, they do get that big. I've seen a few 60 pounders in person before. I also once saw one of those fishing shows where some dude in Tennesee would dive under water in a creek and stick his arm in these holes along the bank. He would grab these fish by the mouth and pull them out of the hole. The ones he was pulling out were 40 lbs +. What can we say, everything is bigger in Texas!
