i have been looking into geting a new boat and doing months of research and am trying to get a boat for under 40k. and need some help.

the boats i have came to are as follows.

new boats
Moomba outback V
Session 22si
maybe a malibu vride if cheap enough
tige 20v

used

mastercraft prostar 205
mastercraft x star
malibu lsv vlx?

if you can give my any extra advise on what i should do please help me out

if i could stay around 30k or less i would be more happy as i'm on a tight budget but if i had to spend closer to 40k i could.

i have been wakeboarding of and on for 5 years but usually my boat break during season and i only get to ride 6 times a year or so i have a 98 bayliner capri 2050 with tower and 5.7l motor i think i could get way better in a better boat. i would like the best wake possible then performance. thank james

go to planetnautique.com and look in their classifieds for a slightly used 210, they go for around 30's and up. You cant go wrong with that.
good luck and enjoy shopping!

without a doubt, go for the brand new Moomba.

You'll have cash left over to buy equipment and accessories.

would this be the best deal for me

2004 MALIBU, VLX WAKESETTER, blk/wht, 75hrs, V-drvie, illusion tower, Indamar Monsoon 340hp, 3-auto vallast tank, wedge plate, perfect pass, shwr, htr, custom trlr, $37500

it is near by and seems cheap for a vlx but i could also buy a new moomba for that or close to it. also is the new vride the same as this boat? if so how much is a new vride?

james, that boat is the same as the new v-ride. In fact, it will have a few standard options that the new v-ride doesn't, e.g. stainless steel rubrail. That looks like a pretty good deal, depending on where you are located. I just recently bought a used VLX and was looking at them for months. I love mine. I would call your local dealer to price a new v-ride. Prices vary by region.

I would look at some gently used Supras. You will have no trouble finding 02-05 SSVs in the $30-40K range and they throw a great wake! BUs, Sangers, MCs, and Centurions good choices as well.

i have been considering selling my 05 ssv, same in profile.

loaded with everthing except heater. 2 amps, 4 speaker bar rosell along with a 13 inch sub.
just purchased a covercraft cover (the best) along with a brand new black bimini. also has the upgraded wakeprop.

160 hrs and can let go right at the 40 K area.

check profile if interested.

it's been a great boat.

There is no comparison between a moomba outback v and the vlx, vlx hands down everything about it is better. Don't discount supra though, you could get a used 21v, 22ssv for around that price if you look.

Look for an '05 or '06 Supra 20 SSV you will get tons of standard features and more room than an X-1 or V-Ride.....they are good boats also.

I used to have a 99 VLX and the 04 you are looking at is the same one my Bro in Law has. (without the wedge) This 2004 throws a great wake with the stock ballast but my biggest gripe with this year is the bow rise. At +18mph it is OK but when we pull his wife or the kids, under 15-16mph the bow rise is terrible. I feel I have to almost stand in the drivers seat to safely pull them. The dealer even admitted this was a problem for the year. In my most recent boat purchase I went with the supra, mainly because it has the trim tab to compensate for slow towing, and there is no bow rise visibilty issue....just my 2 cents of past experience

i can't find any good deals at that moment but here is what i found

1. 2006 MASTERCRAFT X1 FOR SALE. BRAND NEW BOAT. ONLY 65 HOURS. COMES WITH FACTORY CRUISE, WAKEBOARD TOWER, SINGLE AXLE TRAILER, FACTORY BOAT COVER, SATTELITE STEREO WITH AMP AND SUBWOOFER, AUTOMATIC BALLAST TANKS IN THE REAR, FAT SACK IN THE CENTER WELL, MASTERCRAFT SWIVEL RACKS FOR WAKEBOARDS for 40k firm

2. a brand new 2006 sanger v215 loaded with everything possible 43,900 from dealer

3. a 2003 supra 22SSV for 40k loaded with every option avalible and 90 hrs.

the 2004 wakesetter vlx for 36k loaded and 65hrs must be a scam or something i've called everday for 2 weeks at different times left messages and never got a call back once so i have to count that out

also i found a couple 2000 prostar 205 direct drives with ballast, tower, stereo for around 27k.

are any of these good deals

Where is the Sanger located? Do you have a link?

Without a doubt, the 06 X1 is a great deal. That boat produces one of the best wakes of all time, IMO. Supra's & Sangers are nice boats, but if it was my money, I'd go with the MC.

i think i can get the new 2006 sanger 215 with 1000lbs. ballast, tower, tower speakers, stereo, perfect pass. for 40k out the door close to 45k is this a good deal what are others paying id be happy with even a average deal as i understand people need to make money.
Old     (fatsac)      Join Date: Jun 2004       06-15-2007, 7:21 AM Reply
Dude, if you can get the 215 for 40k with all options, go for it. If not, send me the info!

Drive it James, You won't find one that drives nicer than that Sanger.

the sanger seems like a screaming deal i have called around and can't even get a base moomba lsv for that price and the sanger is loaded. i'm going to go and pick it up next weekend and have made arrangements. i think the reason it is so cheap is they bought from another company that went out of bussiness and it's a 2006 model. i will post pics. when i get it thanks james
