Sup y'all, I'm sure this thread has been done before, but new season, new thread.

Got a new board/binding setup this year, normally ride behind a crappy (for wakeboarind) wellcraft I/O in greenbay on the westside, or behind a moomba on cultas lake near van.

Looking for more people to ride with this year, got the gas money, just no boat!

Post up if you're looking for 3rds this year, I'm fairly new but progressing fast, 22 years old and easy going, can also drive no problem.

Also looking for roommates to share a house downtown near gyro for the summer, anyone interested?

Peace,
Adam

Adam, Whats happenin? I was actually going to post on here to ask the same thing. Just moved into the Okanagan a while back and lookin for people who want to come out and ride. ( impossible for me to drive and ride. lol )

Met some great people so far and if you want to ride let me know. As well you should come check out Lake country Ski/board club event this weekend. We have a bunch of people meeting up there and a good group comming into town. Should be a killer weekend!

P.S. My 2000lbs of sacs are coming in today...so I am pumped to get this thing weighted. As well with everyone coming out this weekend, I expect to be pro by Monday! ( ok...I will settle for just above beginner! )

I'm not heading out there until July for sure. We'll see if I have a free weekend in June though. It's getting harder to leave during the school year in June with my kids getting older. They can't really miss a day of school with finals coming up.

What's the price for gas on the lake these days? We're only paying around 80 cents here, I'm pretty sure I'll have to open up the wallet when I get out there though.

What boat are you running behind the most? The 210 for 215?

We rode for the first time on Saturday and Sunday and it wasn't good. The weather was really nice and there were tons of boats on the water. Terrible water + not riding for 6 months + new (different) boat wake = really bad riding.

I'm heading to Vegas this weekend so after we get back I'll be putting some time on the water.

PENTICTON... we are riding almost every day. Rain or shine. Mostly on Okanagan.. sometimes Skaha... Come and try the Fish or Valhalla.. couple of the new boards I got in. Pay $1000cdn and you get a free board, free bindings, and ride for $20 per set. Can't beat it. If you already have board/boots... we can work something out...

2004 Sky Supreme V-Drive - 2500lbs ballast - quick in and out for wake or surf...

Give me a call and we will get you out for some riding.

Kyle. I take a week each year in Penticton with my boat. Just wondering about going out with some locals in a true wakeboat for the day. Could you elaborate on you prices please? $20 per ride + $1000? What kind of board and bindings, and for that price tell me you get to keep them?

We ride in Skaha in the south bay. Any advantages to being on the big lake? Better water?

I am here to simply grow the sport... If you pay $1000 then you will get a pro model board and set of bindings... ones which we have already done this year... Player/Xenon - Valhalla/Xenon (2 of these setups already) - Premier/Highbacks - Fish/Sphynx - Basically any setup except the DNA, Cirrus, etc Cores... They are too expensive for me to be giving away.

There is no catch... I am finding that more and moe people are getting involved when they have nice new equipment and affordable riding...

A lot of clubs sharge $500 per year and $20 per set... and you get nothing...

At least I am giving back to the riders!

As for water conditions... I got early morning... Okanagan is warmer and closer to the house.. but we hit Skaha when the wind comes in from the north.

Pat:
Speaking of the new boat, how do you like it in comparison?

Myself I have been mostly behind the 215 as this is my demo boat. However I have done a little behind the 210 and will be doing much more this weekend.

As far as price goes on the lake...I am not sure yet as I have always filled up before. Kyle may be better to answer that one.

Kyle:
How are things going out your way. It sounds like the buy a board and bindings and get discounted riding offer seems to be going well! I got so caught up with the move, getting the company sorted out and demoing the boats that we never got a chance to sit down and chat. We will have to coordinate a weekend and have both boats out for a morning!

This weekend I have a group of friends coming out to Owls Nest Resort on Kal. Should be a good weekend and we will be taking in the Ice Breaker Tourney on Woods as well. Come on up if you have some free time!

Jase, you have some contact info like email or msn?

I might go ride Cultas this weekend, not sure.

If not I'd love to come up your way and meet some new riders, don't wanna really want to ride this weekend (too cold), but I'd love to sit in the boat!

Bambamski,

I'm seeing things, or you made a typo. $.80 for gas. You profile says Canada, but you must have relocated to the Saudi desert, next to a refinery to get prices like that. We are paying about $2.50 OFF the lake here on So Cal.

That's it. I'm moving! Need a roommate? I'll bring a boat!!
Old    adamc            05-18-2005, 5:03 PM Reply
That's 80 cents a LITRE

1 gallon = 3.7 litres.

.80 x 3.7 = $2.96 CDN

$2.96 CDN = $2.30 USD (roughly, based on xe.com's exchange calculator)

So basically the same

Off water we're paying about $0.97/litre

(I need a roommate, and a boat, get the hell up here!)

Pat... tow your boat here with a big gas tanker truck... you can sell gas here on the water for $1/ltr. Make some money!

Kyle. thanks for the info. That does sound pretty reasonable if you get the setup. I will give you a wave if I see your setup out there this summer.

For some reason I was under the impression that skaha was warmer. Will have to hit Okanagan lake up this year too. Where is the public launch, say from the Casino?
Old     (ogopogo)      Join Date: May 2005       05-19-2005, 1:15 PM Reply
i'm up at Vernon, Supra launch on the water, okanagan lake across from the yacht club, 1 rail but other jibs in area. We are always looking for other riders, its amazing how hard it is to convince people to come out when its not 30 degrees out. view from deck.
Old     (hamkj)      Join Date: Apr 2002       05-20-2005, 7:31 AM Reply
Jon... if you are looking out at the lake from the Casino... look to your right... there is a public boat launch down the street... there is a new traffic circle and lots of development... and that is where the "famous naked frank" statue was situated!!!

Anyone in the area can always give us a call... I will hook you up with a pull.. and equipment if you need it... if you are here for a short visit... make sure you call me ahead of time if you need equipment... usually take a couple of days to get it in...

Jay... we will be in Penticton most of the weekend... feel free to come down this way!

Ryan... how did Jesse's Liquid Ride turn out?

Kyle....I'm not sure if he has even received his boat yet, typical "next week" kind of stuff going on. He didn't have it last week when I talked to him. Nice boat though, rode behind the first model at the boat show. How about this f-ing weather the lake has completey cooled off again, back to full wetties and frozen toes.
Here's to warmer weather and glass on the big lake

Looks like I will be sporting the drysuit till August long weekend. Hey this cold weather has been great for drysuit sales. Sold 3 last week.

Hope to see Liquid Ride on the lakes soon. Would like to ride in the Svfara 696 too. Looks nice.

Jason, Sounds good, I just dropped off my boat for some EFI tweaking in K-town. Hopefully we will have it back for the weekend, temp are forecast to be in the low 30's (celsius) by Saturday. By the way Okanagan is almost always 2 - 3 degrees warmer than Kal, at my house we are sitting at 16 C. I will drop you a line when we get her back.

Thanks for the sweet board Kyle,
looking forward to getting out to ride with y'all once the weather warms up.

(off to mexico this weekend, hopefully it's warm when I get back!)

On a secondary note, me and about 22 other friends are renting a houseboat on the shuswap for June 17/18/19, if anybody with a boat wants to come up and do some riding, there will be more than a few people with gas money looking for a tow.

And at the end of the day we can all jump on the houseboat and have a beer or 10!

Yo adam.. did you end up riding cultus last weekend? How's the water... probably going to head there this saturday if it stays nice. We've been hittin up Alloette a lot but the water is frickin cold....

We just came back from Shuswap houseboating for the long weekend. Water was still pretty cold but we got a lot of riding in Friday and Saturday.. it's glass in the morning but when there's 100 houseboats leaving the beach at 10am the water starts choppin up pretty bad. Wicked times up there, houseboating is awesome, we go every may long.
