Here is a picture and video taken from last weekend on my first ride behind my new boat. I am still a beginner and this is my first ride behind a boat with even a tower...so I still have much to learn. Please take a look and give me feedback on what I'm doing wrong and what I need to work on.

After looking at myself, I see that I'm not edging hard enough, the board needs to progressively be on more edge, I need to keep the rope in lower and tighter to my front hip, I need to not bend over at the waist, and I need to extend my legs and push off of the top of the wake instead of crouching and absorbing the pop.

This is just what I can see that I'm doing wrong and need to work on, but please jump in and lend a hand with some much needed advice.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Well Andrew, you just answered your own questions right there. Also, when you do hit the wake, don't just absorb the impact by collapsing your knees. when you reach the near tip of the wake, jump hard (stand tall as most would say). Most of all, just keep practicing and having fun with it. You'll get it.

Thanks for jumping in Lloyd....yeah, I think I know what I need to be doing, now its just a matter of getting out there and working on it. I'm going to get a used camcorder and buy a tower mount for it so that I can watch and critique my riding to work on getting better. I feel this is the best way to progress...I can pick up a lot by watching myself and then getting back out there and working on correcting it.

Man, I wish I could edge like Shaun Murray...check out this video.

hey nikki...Shaun Murray is putting on a small clinic on June 2nd here in Atlanta at our local lake...I'm inquiring on what the cost is right now. Did you learn a lot and would it be worth to me to go even though I'm a beginnner?

yea i did learn a lot but again i was there for 5 days. But hes just such a laid back, cool guy i would definately go if i were you. And since your a beginner he could fix the problems you have early rather than you forming bad habits. Have fun!
