OK, I have checked the archives, but I can't find anything that addresses my particular question. How do I go from this...

to this?

I am talking about the speaker connection. I am assuming I can get all the parts at a Radio Shack or something. I just need some tips on what to buy, best place to install, and how to install. Thanks!

the bottom speaker sill use banana clips or you can just wire directly to them.

I want to be able to just unscrew the connection and disconnect the speaker wire from the speaker. It makes it a whole lot easier when I have to take the speakers off the tower. Right now it is somewhat of a pain dealing with those connectors every time...

You can use the wire that is there and make it an on/off (quick disconnect) type connector. The other that you pictured would require you to take the speaker apart and cut a hole in the can and place the new connector in there. Good luck

Ya, I have to replace both speakers anyway. The rubber is cracking/cracked on both of them. That's why I figured while I was at it, I would switch out the connectors as well...

One more thing. Make sure whan you drill the hole's in the can. Make sure you make them big enough that the Metal termanials in the plastic Red and Black quick disconects dont touch the metal can.

I prefer to leave a tail on the speakers and put the plugs into the tower. That way you don't have wires hanging when you remove your speakers. Search the archives for my how-to.
