Congrats to the Carrolls and Wolf Watersports for putting on a great comp this past weekend. It was great to see many from SoCal and a bunch from NorCal, plus the local contingent all having a great time. Good job Ben, Kyle, and crew! We look forward to great things next year.

Wake was scored on a point system with the best 10 tricks being scored. Ricky Beat Tony by 7 points Wake Ricky Gonzalez Tony Carroll Josh Twelker Dbl Up was best trick chosen by the riders. Dbl up Tony Carroll Nose grab Back mobe Rail Was best trick chosen by the riders. AJ Racinelli The overall was weighted 50% wake 25% Dub 25% Rail Going into the rail comp Tony and Ricky were neck and neck with Tony needing to finish 2 places above Ricky to win the overall. Over-All Winners 1st Tony Carroll 2nd Ricky G 3rd Josh Twelker

hope this helps wake was scored 2 points for 1st 4 points for 2nd 6 points for 3rd and so on Dbl up was scored 1 point for 1st 2 points for 2nd and 3 points for 3rd and so on rail was scored 1 point for 1st 2 points for 2nd 3 points for 3th 4 points for 4th 5 points for 5th and 6 points for 6th that makes Wake worth twice as much as rail or dubs Scored like golf low score wins based on this Ricky got 2 - wake 2 - dbl up 6 - rail Total 10 points Tony got 4 - wake 1 - dbl up 4 - rail Total 9 points low man wins it was a point system for wake tricks and dbl up and rails were judged by the riders themselves (Message edited by dadthedriver on September 29, 2009)

Doing the math a different way... Wake: Worth 50% of final score Ricky 1 x .5=.50 Tony 2 x .5=1.0 Josh 3 x .5 =1.5 Double Up: Worth 25% of final score Tony 1 x .25=.25 Ricky 2 x .25=.50 Josh 4 x .25=1.0 Rails: Worth 25% of final score Josh 3 x .25=.75 Tony 4 x .25=1.0 Ricky 6 x .25=1.5 Add them all up: Tony 1.0+.25+1.0=2.25 Ricky .50+.50+1.5=2.50 Josh 1.5+1.0+.75=3.25 Low score wins}

isnt that different scoring systems? if wake was worth 50% wouldnt Tony have to get 1st in dblup and rails to tie with Ricky? and why is 1st in double up more than 1st in the other two? when it is worth the most? seems backwards.

" Well that would be implying that all that counts is first place. Just because first in wake got 50% doesnt mean 2nd and below were awarded no points

Ricky went into rails one placement ahead of Tony. If Tony had beaten him by one place, Ricky would have won the overall, beacuse they would have been tied, and wake was the tiebreaker. Looking at it another way, and considering only Ricky and Tony: For wake, each placement is worth two points, and for DU and slide, each placement is worth one point. After wake, Ricky is ahead by two points. (wake is worth twice as much as DU and twice as much as Slide). Tony wins DU and Ricky takes second. Tony closes the gap by one point. Ricky is still ahead by one point. Going into slide, Tony needs to beat Ricky by two places to win the overall. Neither Tony nor Ricky have their best night on the sliders. Tony takes 4th and Ricky takes 6th. Tony beats Ricky by two places and wins the overall. If anyone else's math comes out differently please let us know. It seems pretty straightforward to me.

Mitchell this has gone on way to long. Both ways show low man wins. Even if you do it like someone else has said and give first place 0 points since low man wins it still comes out the same. several people have shown how it adds up and I am sure any other math person could come on here and explain it in another way. It is not a different scoring system. It is just another way to try and explain how each thing adds up. Remember low mans wins. I am really sorry that it is confusing. The wake portion was scored on Points for each trick similar to the INT but modified and used at Nor Cal WWA while they were running all of those successful Comps up there. I made sure to keep myself out of the scoring. I drove the boat and all trick recording and scoring for Wake was done by riders in the boat who were not from the local area. For the Double up It was judge by the riders all watching what went down. I stepped out of the boat and was met by several riders including Ricky who said Tony Clearly Won with his Nose grab Back Mobe. As far as rails that was handled by the riders and Dave Clark from SoCal who recorded who the riders decided Finished in what position. He then handed me a score sheet. All calculations of the score were done by Peter Twelker From Nor Cal WWA. We ran this Comp for everyone to have fun. I now see why others have stopped having comps and others said dont have a cash purse because it leads to headaches. Wow were they right. Next year we are doing it again in a series of 4 and I invite all of you to come out and see how the scores add up.

Mitchell, do you have a dog in this hunt? I've seen this scoring system work for 2 years in NorCal comps with no problems. It's a tried & proven system that works. What up Ben, and BTW get the 40D.

I think Peter explained it pretty well. Ben, I think you did a great job. I am sure everyone had a great time and will be back next year. Are you guys all coming to the delta on the 17th?
