i just filled up my 2002 v230 sanger with a acme 911 prop on it 330hp black scorpion ...... the boat took 51.62 gallons of gas at $4.17.9 a gallon cost $215.76 and the boat has 391.2 hours on it ....... going to see how many hours per gallon i get wakesurfing ........ my boat is in the delta and we really dont have much run time to a spot as its essentially a 2 minute drive ...... so we are going to be very cautious on how we drive to see what our gas consumption is
be interesting to know how many hours of running time do you get on your boat with year, make, model, and prop!
1/2 day of surfing (4 hours)
4 riders.... 2 surf sets each
No down time except for rider changes
03 Avalanche with 350 mag (315hp) and 911 prop
2250 lbs of water ballast
16-18 gallons of gas
this season i am going to record gallon per hour. from the first full tank to when the boat comes out of the water. it an 09 enzo 23. 330hp black scorpion. with the 1579 prop. enzo sacs etc etc/ last year we put 167 hours on from mid may to 1st of october. I think we where just around 4 gallon an hour. I will keep you posted as i am interested as to how much we use and the costs. this will help divi up funds from the friends. lol
i should have included my ballast also and what rpms the boat runs at ....... we have 1000lbs lead and 550 max water weight ....... the boat runs between 2600 to 2800 rpms ....... we were using 2200lbs of ballast and the rpms were 2900 to 3100 ...... we are in the delta also and there is always tide running one way or the other
@doug ..... we could invent the first boat taxi meter / dual reader with owners expense and riders share LOL
Tige 24V with a Black Scorpion 330 H.P, 1,800 lbs of ballast, running 12.8 mph, taps at 3.5, no run time to surf area, delta currents = 4.62 gallons per hour
refilled the boat sunday morning ...... 44.53 gallons and 8.1 hours on the boat ...... 5.5 gallons per hour x $4.17.9 = $23.00 an hour
i told chris his driving skills need to improve ........ we put 5.5 hours on the boat yesterday and i drove all but 45 minutes ...... the gas tank was showing more then half a tank left so maybe i got closer to 4.5 gallons per hour @ $4.11.9 a gallon would get it down to $18.50 an hour
all in all it doesnt seem that harsh of an operating cost ....... going to keep my numbers going and figure in berth rental and insurance costs to get a monthly hour cost ....... ( we are lucky as we have no boat payment )
