I read a few posts today that got me wondering... is it unusual to have only one to two serious riders on a public lake in the mornings? i always feel crowded when there is a boat out there besides my own.... even when they are far enough away to not be sending any wakes at me. So my question is... what seems to be the norm for number of serious riders on your lake?.... by serious i mean can wake to wake pretty easy.

Depends on the size of the lake. On big water, you have no idea how many total riders there are at any one time, just how many are in your channel.

In our small channel, riding with one other boat is no problem as long as they know what they are doing...no powerturns....ride back and forth in the same line instead of doing ovals. Riding with 2 other boats is possible, but can make for rough riding. More than that and we bag the riding for a while. How serious the rider is doesn't matter much, though I am always up for watching some really good riders, it is mostly about how good the driver is.

We are on a river and there are three serious crews. We usually only pass each other twice a day, so we hardly see them. The rest are fishermen.

it's usually just us in the morning. The others come out with the weekend idiots and attempt to ride. I'm glad they sleep in but can't imagine why they wait.

The lake I ride, I am the only serious rider, by that I mean there are two other people on my lake that even have wakeboards and they can barely even stay up and I have onlly seen them once.

So just me out there riding almost always.

Only us on our lake. There is one other dude who boards, we know him, and he only boards when he is back from school (in a different state).
