the number of fins itself might not be so important... it all depends on the shape and fin placement... sure the search is a pretty basic board... for beginners, it forgives a lot easy to ride and not expensive... if your looking for a little performance, this shape is pretty limited... if you have the money, depending on how tall you are and how much you weight, you might wanna look at the liquid force evo 134 or diva 134... the diva is a women specific board which would be good for you... if you're tall and strong, you might wanna go for the evo 138... those board have four molded fins(that are part of the board) and two removable fins... or even a trip 133(or 138) which has 6 removables fins... those will be easy to learn on and can deliver some strong performance on demand... they are a little more expensive but worth the price if you don't want to have to change your board in a year or two... and for bindings... yeah I'll keep recomanding Liquid force alphas cuz they are just the best binding around for the price... and don't be affraid to get them tight enough...
