First New Wakeworld Thread!

What are every one's thoughts on the new site?

Ummm dude... this is going to take awhile to get used to. Wow... at this point I'm not a fan... but I will reserve judgement for a later period once I've had some adjustment time.

Damn looks like my post count took a couple hundred hit!

Eternal, what don't you like. Throw is down cuz we need to know to make sure it works for as many as possible.

Is the new site open to everyone cuz I am still using the IP and I am too lazy to change it back to see?

This is fricking sweet.

I love the new site but had to sign up again. Not sure why it wouldn't let me use my email and password from the old board but its no biggie.

Way too early to judge my friend. I will be interested to see how week one goes. See what becomes the sort of new "norm" around here. So far I dig it.

If you had an account in the old system, you should be able to use your email to request a new password (passwords are encrypted so we couldn't bring them over). That way you will carry on with your old account which has your post count, sign up date, etc. Go here to request a new password for your account: http://www.wakeworld.com/lostpass.php

I tried but never got an email.

I got mine in seconds.

I got an email immediately when i setup a new account but nothing for my old account. I just tried again. I used a different email for the new account so I'll see if I can get it worked out. If not again no biggie.

Sweet! I've been fighting for about a hour to log in & Dave had to reset my password. It's like a whole new World!

I haven't clicked around much, but on first glance, the new site looks great!

I haven't had much time to look into the detail of the site but it looks great to me!

Does anybody know how to access the Sean O'brien video. I signed up for an account on Vimeo and it says it is a private video. Am I missing something?

It's just that it's new at this point. It's new colour schemes and all that, it's just not what I'm used to. That's why I'm saying that I'll reserve judgement for a period after I've had a chance to adapt to the new site.

The homepage did take a bit of visual digestion as all these loud colours were thrown at me that I wasn't expecting, but again I'll reserve judgement.

I need to play with the site, see how it functions and all that. I also find that I'm needing to adjust to the user names of everyone after seeing first and last names for so long.

If I have any technical issues though I shall bring them to your attention, how would you best like us to do that? Email you? Or maybe you could start a stickied discussion if you already haven't that keeps it at the top of the page?

I believe that much of the criticism you may receive is because everything is new.

This is the first time I have logged into the new system, and yes I am uncomfortable with it. I also had to create a new account, but that was because I couldn't remember all my old info. It will take some time for me to get used to it.

I will say though, that this site looks much more professional and pleasing to my eyes. I think that this was a great move for biz, and once everyone gets used to it, which shouldn't take long, you will be very happy.

All the new features are awesome, and the community stuff will only continue to get better, only wish there was another theme without such in your face colors, I feel like forums with mostly white as a background is too hard on the eyes...

And did the system switch break all the old pictures? I can't get any pictures in old posts to show up in Chrome.

The pics are still uploading right now, so hopefully they'll all be in place tomorrow.

Hmm works for me. Any luck on the secondary themes with darker, cooler colors idea? I don't have much experience with vBulletin, but I'm sure many people with less than stellar eyesight similar to mine would be extremely thankful. Black on gray > black on white

I do like that idea. I would like a softer color background too, so it's on the list. Unfortunately, there are a lot of items in front of it!

Hey Dave....so far easy to use. I think it is just so new and different....it will take time to get used to...doesn't mean its not good. If this was our first time on we wouldn't know the difference. But nice job....and thanks for wanting to make an improvement.

Glad its back up and running, I was going through withdrawls!!! Definately a different look and will take getting used to and learn how to use. Like how you post updates on the home page.
Otherwise I do like it. As long as the same helpful people stay active on here, I am happy!! Thanks for all your hard work!

I Like it, sure it will take a little while getting used to it, but i am excited EVEN for that journey of getting used to it. reminds me of getting new wake gear, riding it, breaking it in, and getting used to it.

shouldn't the "features" column be wider than the "latest in wake" and "wake blog" column?

Yeah, that's pretty annoying. Not sure what purpose that serves, but it already on my list.

Like others have mentioned I find the white background very harsh on the eye for the forum, that would be my biggest turn off

I'll chime in and say that I don't think I like not being able to read all the posts without clicking on them directly. Is there anyway we can get a display mode that will show all the text of every post? OR, maybe that is the "Hybrid" mode? However, when using that the ordering of the posts is pretty messy.

Testing 1,2,3...had to sign up for a new account. Old email address was history...

The only thing that I'm finding annoying is the username system here. Now I gotta go back through and relearn everyone's names on the site, but other than that, it's pretty sick. It does feel a little bit more cluttered, but I thinkthat is in part to the fact that the forum is in the center of the screen instead of the entire thing, like the old forums were. Iron, what areyou talking about not being able to read all of the text for posts? I haven't come across this. That sounds like a scary problem, especially for those of us who like those political topics with the mega posts that come every two or three posts.


And I took a close to 800 post count hit. Ahhhh nooooo. My almost 3 years of posting has been undid in a weekend. =P Jk, who caress.

Agree on being busy, and would like to change my name up as it used to be opposite.

Seems it moved to what others use, I like how the old was, but I'm also into being basic. Once we get used to it we won't even remember the old one

Pretty cool new site. I am having trouble updating my profile, each time I hit save it goes back to the user login screen and never does anything. Anyone else having this issue?

Man, this thing is different. At first I was totally taken Back, honeslty for a half a second I thought I clicked the wrong favorite in my bookmarks, I thought I hit Alliancewake.com. I looks great overall. Its kinda like a new car. Looks pretty but will take some getting used too. I think the hardest adjustment for me will the the forums. I really do like the fact that on the homepage or any page for that matter all the flashing banners a gone for the most part.

I think the hardest part so far was figuring out home to login to the forum, I never had to use my email before!

This looks good. It will take a few days to get use to. It's almost like night and day compared to the previous WW forum.

I like the new look!! Seems much easier to navigate throught the site once you figure out where everything is again.

Looks good, need to play around with it to get you some feedback... I have to get used to the page numbers, I kinda liked that about the old forum, that it was all in one page...

Also, is there a test thread where we can try posting images and what not... just to get used to it.. so we dont clutter up the main forums with test threads...
