My boat is being stored this winter in a old nike missile silo this winter. I thought it was cool to see so I got some pictures to share with everyone.

Nike made missiles? I can think of a lot of great uses for that property, very cool.

That's very cool use of available vacant property. Travel Channel did a show a while back on people actually buying those old facilities and turning them into some very nice homes/estates. One place actually flooded the silos and uses it for scuba diving.

I have heard of them making the silos into houses but scuba diving in one would be really cool.

So thats just the first level, right? How deep was it? And did you cover the boat too?

Heres the one you can dive in: http://www.underseaadventures.net/silo.htm
Pretty wild setup.

Theres a ton of them all thru WA state, even in the Seattle area (mostly eastside, Redmond, Bothell, Issaquah, etc.). I think most of them have been filled in by now. But some of the outbuildings are still there. Pretty creepy wandering around them.

It is just that one level which is around 60 feet deep or maybe a little deeper. It's just that one big room that held the missiles and now it can hold about 20 boats. Then there is also a control room thats about the size of an office. Yes we did cover the boat before we left.
