Is there a way I can tell what motor it has by a picture? I wanted to know if it has the 310 HP or the 330 HP motor. Do they look different?

Yes you can tell by a photo. Our 01 X-Star has the 330hp. Post up a pic if you have and myself or someone on here will let you know what engine it is.

The 310, should say preditor on it, and the 330 should say LTR.

Where's the motor? That looks like a half shot of the flame arrestor i'd say which really doesn't tell you anything, maybe somebody can make a guess.

Is it multi-port injection or Throttle body injection? If its only throttle body its the 310hp.

If it has a round flame arrestor on it, it is the 310 TBI.

I was thinking if it has the round flame arrestor that it is the 310 hp also.

Has anyone rode in a 310 hp x-star weighted? I was wondering if it struggled with the weight and riders.

Mine has the 310 Predator. I put a different OJ prop on it. It does more than fine for what we do.

Here's a thread about the prop testing/choice.

Yes that is the 310HP TBI engine. I have the same one in my 2002 x-star. I usually run around 1000lbs ballast, but occasionally hit up to 2000lbs. I did re-prop it and the motor does fine.

Call up ACME. They make the best props! Tell them your boat and engine and how much weight you are going to add to the boat all the time and they will help you get the best prop for your boat. The guys at ACME rock! 1-888-661-ACME

Chris, just to be clear, the 310HP TBI engine is not smaller. It is a 5.7 liter chevy block which is the same size block as the LTR (330HP) and MCX(350HP). They are all the same size engines that put out different amounts of horsepower.

I knew they were the same size motors, but I was concerned about not having the extra horsepower. Looks like that can be some what taken care of with the prop sizing.
