Thank you for commenting on here and clearing up on who it was. As I posted earlier, I was told he was NOT the owner but still affiliated with the company.

As far as the ragging on the boats, I am sorry this happened. I am not sure I like the fact that the boat is design to drive straight up and down especially with skiers/boarders because I do not care who you are you have no control and or vision of what is in front of you but, in all I am a fan all different kinds of boats and I don’t think someone boat should be ragged on.

Again, I just wanted to get the word out so no one had to go through what I went through and maybe it would get back to the driver an make him think twice before doing this again.

Though I still have not heard if he knows he was wrong or if he still thinks what he did was ok.

"We build it for people who want more performance than what a 35-40mph inboard or V-drive can offer"

"I'll be happy to give any of my fellow boarders a test run on our V-Drive. I know you'll be impressed
We are developing a 23' V-Drive which will be even better."

So is your new wakeboard boat actually a V-Drive or is it a stern drive like the rest of your boats.

I think the reason people are ragging on you is beacuse there is unsafe boat operation being displayed in your promo video. IMO The video, in and of itself seems to validate Mike Z's comments.

It's Ferrari, not Farrari.

Mike, just to clarify. My father is the new owner of Marine Tech/ Ski-Pro. The culprit no longer has any affiliation with Ski-Pro boats and has not for some time now. His only tie to Ski-Pro is that he still owns a few boats that he built back when he owned the company. What he did was inexcusable and would never be condoned by anyone at ski-pro. If it was I would personally make sure that whoever that person may be would no longer be employed. As Ezra posted we do have a really impressive new 21' V-drive and are developing a 23' v-drive as well. Both boats are targeted at the Wakeboarding market. Again I am sorry this all came to this and hope that when we get the next v-drive demo boat out of the mold Ezra or myself can give you a tow.

Just as a good will gesture next time you are at the Ski-lodge ask Kipp or Buzz if I am around and I will buy a cold one.

I figured some one would catch it...Ferrari...
We offer the 21' boat in a stern drive which is our high performance boat. you can get it with a 225hp V6 all the way up to a monster 510hp supercharged engine. That has been what ski pro has been about. Performance.
Now with the demand for wake boats, we offer the 21' boat in a V-drive package. It is not a high performance boat. It was designed with wakeboarders in mind. It has a dual rudder system and a Zenith plate system which allows you to manipulate the wake for beginners or more advanced boarders. Top speed is in the upper 40s-lower 50s. Just like everyone else.
Mike,
James, his father and i are planning to speak to the person driving the boat about this incident.

And change up your promo video. Atleast take the kid bailing over the side of the boat out. We have enough dumb ass boaters on the lakes the way it is.

the skipro is being used in endurance barefoot racing, i read where the floor had torn out of a skipro during a race and it almost sank, i think beaching it was the only option that kept it from sinking. as the new owners what has been done to improve quality?

My Sanger is an inboard and does 53 mph...they are a custom builder as well but i have not ever heard of one coming apart and nearly sinking...

Thanks Ezra, I appreciate that.

Well things here seem to be looking up. Although I see what niche SkiPro is marketing to anyone who is convinced to buy one of your boats and let people bail off the back can stay the hell away from me on the water. Meaning I'd snip that part of the video out. Matt

Andy,
because of that very incident, we have completely changed the construction method that Moore Marine used. Without getting into a lot of technical stuff, the old construction method was rated at 980lbs per sq. inch. We are now rated at 5200lbs per square inch. We GUARRANTY our hull will not fail. We took my boat out to the Corpus Boat show and launched it 10 feet in the air in the bay doing about 60mph. some of the other boat manufacturers thought we would be fixing the bottom of it. When we brought it back to the shop, i couldn't even find a single crack on the bottom. We may be a small company and because of the way the boat was previously built, some people may say it's a POS, but we KNOW we are building the best built and best performing ski boat on the market. If you don't believe it, i challenge you to come ride in a NEW Ski Pro before you write us off.
Matt,
I'll bring that part of the video up with Jim Walker, our owner. We don't want to promote unsafe driving or conduct.
As i said before, any comments or suggestions are more than welcome.

Yes, lifetime warranty on the hull.

Yeah we've been fighting with the previous owner's rep, so anything we can do to show that we are committed to a great product...

I think the promo video is fine. So they show the boat doing a wheely so what. Since when are wakeboarders soooo conservative? I know several inboard mfgs that show boats doing power turns and spinouts is that safe? There was one on here that showed a well known rider slamming a girl against the side while power turning.Or loading our boats with excessive amounts of weight. All I'm saying is we shouldnt bash the guys company cuz of some other idiot. Erza had the nuts to come forward and resolve the issue and even said he was going to talk to the idiot that did this in person. Wow that was my .02
Damn I'm never this serious.

Billy did you watch the whole vid? You notice the disclaimer that came up like three times??
Old     (woreout)      Join Date: Aug 2006       06-15-2007, 2:30 PM Reply
Yes, unfortunatley disclaimers are a result of too many a$$hle lawyers suing everybody. PWC's have all kinds of disclaimers in there ads, they are most unsafe idiots on the water IMO.

These things look like a Redneck's dream come true. That video is hillarious!

I think the point is that people that aren't very experienced boaters will try to mimic the behavior on the video, Billy. I'd much rather run into some wally with an overweighted wakeboat than a wally with a supercharged boat that wants to do wheelies and powerturns...

"best built and best performing ski boat on the market"
Funny just proclaimed you were more into performance boats

Erza,

Did you talk to the old owner? If so, what did he say?

Might be time to rebrand if you have past owners sinking your ship. Distance yourself from the past as fast as possible. I would bet that this is not a "Wakeworld member" is not the first to have been put off of SkiPro bc of his actions.

I am impressed with what you have done by making posts on here to bring out more information. Good luck with the company.

I personally have not had the opportunity to talk to him yet because I have been out of town. I don't know if Ezra or my Dad have but I will let you know when I hear something.

Thanks James,

Let me know when you do. Thank again for all your (Erza too) help in clearing up the issue.

I hope you can distance yourself from this guy as I think he is bad news.
