wakeplate up or down?

Can someone please tell me if I will get a better wake with the plate up or down? Thank You I have a centurion elite

Not sure on a centurion but on my sanger we ride with it 3/4 of the way up. you might have to play with it to see what is best for you

Susan, what year is your Centurion Elite. I think the hull on an 06 Elite is the same as an 06 Lightning. There’s also an Elite bow rider, to be honest I can’t keep all the models straight.

I have an 04 Lightning which has the same hull as some version of the Elite. My hull is a ski boat hull with spray pockets and a hull extension. If you have a boat like mine I can give you some good setup advice.

When I setup for regular surf on the port side of the boat I set the trim tab up. On the starboard-goofy side I set the trim tab down. Also on the starboard-goofy side surfing you might actually consider filling the port ballast tank part or all the way. Depending on the weight we had in the boat we ran either 100% or 50% trim down when surfing on the starboard side. This year with significantly more ballast we run the trim tab all the way down.

I’ve modified my ballast system quite a bit this season so the rest of my setup probably doesn’t apply to your boat. However I did quite a bit of surfing last year with the stock setup. On my boat getting a strong list (lean) is really important for making a good wake.

If you have a newer 06 hull you’ll probably make a good surfing wake with less effort than on my 04 Lightning hull. Good luck and let’s see some wake and surfing pictures as you begin to figure it out.

on my mobius XLV if i run with the plate up it makes the wake taller but the pocket shorter and if i put it down, it makes the wake short but with a longer pocket, i usually ride with it at about 1/2 way
