What do you guys think about the Bare drysuit? My old Ronny has bit the dust and it's time to upgrade. How does the Bare compare to the O'Neil Boost?

Thanks in advance.

I had a chance to ride both last year. Although both are fine suits I think the O'neil is a little better quality. I thought that the seals on the O'Neil seemed a little thicker and less likely to fail.

When I get around to getting one this year I plan on spending the few extra bucks to get the O'Neil.

I know the O'Neil has the suspenders. What does the Bare have inside to old up the bottom part of the suit?

There are no suspenders in last years Bare. I am not sure about this years. I have to say I love my Bare suit though.

I first purchased an O'neil but the neck seal was out of some thick type neoprene which was waaaaay to tight for me. It seemed like it was made very well. I sent it back for a Bare and it was a lot more comfortable in the neck area. And you can trim it to size if you need too. As for the suspenders...they'd be nice but I've found that as soon as I'm in the water and I "burp" the suit it's clings to me pretty tight and doesn't move around....so it'd be a non issue for me if I had to pay more for it. But I never did water test the O'neil.

I bought the Bare cuz i didnt have 3 hundred something dollars to buy the Boost but the Bare works fine for me. I did have a problem with the back zippers not sealing tight cuz the teeth were defective. I emailed Bare and they had me send it back and within 2 weeks i got a brand new one in the mail. Btw, i got mine from Adrenaline Watersports for $240 shipped. Ask for RV and he might hook u up too.

You mean Grizzly Sports...that is where RV works. We knew what you meant!

I've had both the O'Neill and the Bare. For me, the latex seals on the Bare fit much better. My O'Neill suit always leaked around the neck. It would be nice if Bare incorporated suspenders into their suits though.

My suit has worked fine so far, but you can't neglect the seals. I rarely treated them and I didn't store the suit in an airtight area in the off season and the seals were shot before the end of the second season.

I treat them now, and keep them in a tied up garbage bag and so far so good.

Yikes...you're supposed to store them in an airtight environment? Guess I better start that. I treated the seals but just hung it up in a closet for the summer.

Yeah, sorry. Grizzly, not Adrenaline. Thanks Jarret for the correction.

If you roll the neck inside about an inch on the O'Neill it wont leak a drop.

Ocean Tec $200. Works great, American made quality. No marketing budget. www.boarditup.com

What are you treating the seals with? How do you think 303 would work?

I use silicone spray now that I don't have the stuff that came from BARE. Seems to work great.

Silicone works, but will make seal replacment very difficult. Use 303.
