So I just wanted to post for the Sanger owners out there. My 2009 sanger 215 was due the 125 hour service. Every shop wanted like 650 dollars for this. I did it according to specs for just the cost of parts and oils=200 dollars. My impeller only took like 40 minutes, not hard at all. As a new boat owner I'm glad I did it and not get ripped off. If anyone with a Sanger has questions drop me a line.

Right on Jason. What unit did you buy to pull the oil out of the engine? Can you use it for the v-drive and tranny? Im curious to what oil you put back in too. I have done my impeller. Its not hard but it does suck. Who ever designed it is an idiot. My 75 rayson craft is way easier. Anyway how often will you do your oil changes. I do mine every 100 hours.

You can buy a manual (vacumn) type oil extracter or a 12v one from auto part shops. It will also do the V drive. Makes it very easy.

Dave I used the Moeller Pump. Took like 45 seconds for tranny and v drive to suck out. engine about 5 minutes. It works very well and lets you know how much sucked out. I used it for all three. vdrive I used Castrol 30 wt, tranny I used reg dextron, and engine I have to use full synthic 20-40.

What all did you do for the 125 hour service? I just did my oil, tranny, V-drive and fuel filter the other day. I change my oil about every 50 hours and impeller every 100 at least. I took a few pics and planned on doing some type of quick write up but never got around to it. The fluids I got from Larson Marine and they are:

oil: Mercruiser fully synthetic SAE 20w-40
Tranny: Formula shell multi-vehicle
V-drive- Shell Rotella T heavy duty SAE30

I use the Moeller pump as well and it worked great. I'll attach a few pics from the fluid changes.

I also service my Sanger (2004 V210). The V-Drive specifies 30w non-detergent so that is what I used. The impeller is not easy, hardest part is just getting acces to it. I usually stock up on parts, filters and oil when I see it on sale and keep extras on hand. And I always charge my batteries after every outing. I just change all the fluids annually and the oil and filter every 25-50 hours. Every month I check air pressure in the trailer tires and grease the hubs.

How many hrs do you do a year? I would be doing the fluids every fortnight if I did it every 25hrs.....

3-4 a year. I use my boat and ride with friends so we spread out the usage.

That's 3-4 oil changes a year, not hours!
