What I dont get is how someone can bury a rig like that? I mean I guess i don't understand how that happens?

not to sound like a jerk, but do you really have a good laugh off somebody else's misfortunes? I realize that most of us on this board are pretty damn good at backing a boat down a ramp, but I more feel sorry for, or try to help out those who aren't quite there.

Unless they are total A-holes, I can't really imagine having a good laugh at watching someone else's truck get buried in the water.

IMO.

Here is the story,

The guy is a big time bass boat guy some fancy Ranger boat. He pays some random guy $ 20 to put him in the water. The guy says the brakes went out and he could not stop.

The verbal dialog is what was funny on the dock as he paid the marina guys $ 100 to pull him out

The lake is low and there is no pitch to the ramp so no way it was brake failure. Sometime you get what you pay for.

you mean he had to pay someone to pull him out in a situation like that...? must be one charitable marina guy

LOL what a creep, give me 100 bucks to take 5 minutes out of my day and pull you out.

^^^ X3

I LIKE to pull people out of sticky situations. People will USUALLY offer money, but I just do it for fun... And Karma.

Helping someone out and not excepting money is much more rewarding than a friggin $100. While there is some humor in this it's a huge bummer.

Karma I always help. Take the beer he gives you just not the money. How the hell do you get so deep that just does not make sense if the brake go out put it in drive?

I dont think he said the marina guys "charged" him money to pull him out. he just said he paid the marina guys $100. I just do not understand how anyone can't do it by themselves.
It is pretty funny, especially considering no one was injured.

That's a bummer to see. I've dock/launch my boat many times by myself. It just takes a little more time, but easy to do. I would never ask a stranger to those things for me. But that's just me. This just gives me even more reason to do it myself.

Its only funny if the guy is a douche bag who thinks hes a hot shot and has it down when he really doesnt.

yea, gauging from the boat (top of the line stuff) and the beer belly and the attitude on the dock, the guy is accustom to getting his way.

I could not imagine letting some bystander get in my truck and expect him to know how to launch a boat let alone on a low water ramp

yeah i laugh where they dont see me and then offer to help. Its funny and u guys no it. now truck n the water sucks but i might get a giggle out of it.

What does the water being low have to do with anything it looks like that ramp goes on forever into that lake.

It's a direct result of being lazy.

He could of spent the extra 10 minutes to launch the boat by himself and saved his truck, time, money and fishing trip.

Looks like very little water might have got into the truck..

I backed my Jeep down the ramp and had a friend load the boat onto the trailer. While I was getting ready to attach the winch, he bumped the roller guard with the boweye hook and pushed my jeep forward a little. For some reason, it popped my E brake loose, and my jeep rolled back into the water. Luckily, I was able to hurdle the front of the boat and get to the drivers seat before it was completely submerged. As I jumped in and gassed it, there was about 6 inches of water in the floorboard.

I laugh about it now, but wasn't very funny at the time. I'm sure it was for the rest of the people at the marina, though.

bumping a car forward makes the e brake go off?

Man all it took was seeing one car at the bottom of a hill to learn, never trust the E brake. But that baby in Park!!!
