I'm moving to Orlando for next fall and either going to UCF or Valencia. Anyone know of anybody that needs a room mate that rides quite a bit?

how far are you willing to commute?

Prob around 20 min. I just want to be decently close to riding. How far out are you?

Maybe check out winter haven - its like 40 min for Orlando, but only about 15 min from Lakeland which has USF.... tons of people ride there... plus you're out of the hustle and bustle of the city, unless you like that.

2 cables within an hour, tons of pros to ride with in the area/other people with boats... super cool town.

I just got accepted to FSC and have been looking at it however I think they require you to live on campus the first year which wouldn't be so cool because it doesnt have that many students. I have been looking into winter haven though as well.

most colleges are going to make you live on campus your first year anywhere. they say one year you must live on campus but you can move off campus after your first quarter or semester.

Jballa,

FSC is a Baptist school, so yes, you will most likely have to live on campus. But, the campus is right on the lake, and EVERYONE lives on campus, and interacts. To be honest, if you're good on the water, well, the sororities over look the lake ;)... and they are girls from all over the nation.

hahahaha touche A-dub. Does anyone know how often you are able to ride there though? The other great thing about FSC is that its really close to OWC

You getting any scholarships? I wanted to go to UCF for their "marketing Program", but there was no way I could afford it.

^^ FL schools are dirt cheap once you're a resident... its nuts.

Go down, hang-out/work/wakeboard for a year... then pay like $90 a credit for in-state tuition ... I honestly don't know where it is cheaper in the U.S.

FSC is in Lakeland, which is right outside of Tampa really. You'd be right near McCormicks, and the Tampa cable park would be closer than OWC. The waterski team skis everyday, and there are plenty of wakeboarders there as well.

Dang, that's crazy.

I'm going to University of Arkansas in the fall, and it's going to be around $13,000 total for in-state.

I plan on going there just to be a resident and then go to ucf I think. Although my parents are paying for it I feel bad making them pay that much and am thinking about just going to a community college somewhere down there and getting alot of riding in.

That what I was going to do... do a ComCollege until I was a resident... save a little money that way

I did a 4 months down there two winter ago while I did online classes (general crap at my current school) and getting in-state tuition ... but parents were not feeling it and kind of gave me a cutoff warning, so I came back. Then did another 6 weeks this winter and came back...

Oh well, I graduate in 3/4 semesters so I'll just hopefully move down there after... I'll still be sorta young. I also got engaged so I can't really just leave her behind here and go down there..... ugg, life as a grown up.

It's not really that bad, I'm in school at Full Sail and love it. Florida weather isn't too shabby either.
