You really need a great board design. Someone with a great knowledge of the different materials that are used in the board, someone to press and construct the boards (which is the easiest part to come up with) and most of all like Joe pointed out lots of money it is a very very expensive business to be in.

Aaron, I see your only 16 years old. I wouldn't say your "lame" for not having any contacts. I would guess 95% or more of the industry doesn't have contacts and never will. If your art for the wakeboards is as good as you think/say it is, your best chances would be to try to submit sames to a boarding company that already has been established. If they are that good and the company likes them, perhaps you could discuss selling more graphics to them.

Other than that, as everyone else has said, it takes a lot of money to start a business. It also takes more than cool graphics to sell a wakeboard. I suggest getting through school, goin to college and graduating with a degree that will allow you to make money so you can afford this sport. Everyone knows it isn't cheap. You'd make a lot more money someday opening your own graphic design business than a small wakeboard company. Either way, if you own the company, you make your own hours and board when you want. Good Luck with everything.

being only 16 does suck and this isnt for like next year im talking like 10 years down the road when im BETTER at wakeboarding and MAYBE a little well known would help...but i do know someone who can press and make the boards so really all i need is money and people to sell through....

well if you are serious about doing that, I would go to as many wakeboard events as you could, network with people, go through hs, go to college, take classes. Try and get jobs/internships in the wake industry.
