I'm thinking of getting the Fly High Pro X V-Drive fat sacs for my '99 Sunsetter VLX.

I currently have a battery in each compartment at the transom leaving about 39" of length for the fat sac. The specs for the Pro X says 42".

Will this work? Will it put pressure on the battery?

just don't fill them up all the way and you should be fine

I have a 98 VLX with the same sacs and one battery on the port side. I don't have any problems and I completely fill them until water spills out the vents. Don't worry about it.

I have the the Fly High Pro X 750's in my rear compartments in my 98 sunsetter vlx......they will almost fill all the way....I did relocate my battery but it was an easy fix for the extra weight....You won't be sorry if you go with the bigger ones.

i have a 96 VLX. i moved my battery to the useless cooler under the observer seat (and added a second batt). i never liked how the battery on only one side messed up the balance, and i was more concerned about the battery tearing up the sack than the other way around.

right now i have coverless 550's in the back which are a perfect fit, but i'm probably going to ProX 750's this year because of the superior port design. i wouldn't recommend the 450's - you will probably end up wanting more weight.

i wouldn't be worried about putting pressure on the battery, but do you have the electric hatch lift? the port sack will push against the ram pretty hard. i am finally going to get rid of that stupid thing this year too, and go to gas springs and a Perko latch.

Either of the Pro X Series bags (the V-Drive Sacs or Fat Sac) will fit just fine in your lockers, and can be filled with the battery in place. There won't be any problems with the battery damaging the bag, and you'll be able to fill them as much as possible for riding or wakesurfing (which is why the 750 pound Fat Sac is a better choice).

Trace, my 98 has plastic panels separating the engine and the side compartments. The electric ram is on the engine side so there is no risk of the sac pushing on it. Is the ram on the other side in the 96?
