Wakesurfing? help!

So my dad has been talking about wakesurfing ever since we got our boat and it looks like a lot of fun. So I thought I'd get him one for his birthday but I know nothing about them. So do you guys know of any boards for beginners?

Do I need anything else like a special rope or n/e thing? Like I said I know nothing about wakesurfing so I'd really appreciate it if you guys would help me out

Emily, the first thing we'd really need to know is your Dad's weight. Also, does he have a style prefernce at this point (surf vs skim)? Is he a long time ocean surfer just starting behind the boat, perhaps?

If we can get those two bits of info, I'm sure we can give you some guidance.

I am curious too, I weigh 225 and am just starting behind a boat,not sure as far as skim or surf what I would want though
