though they are not neccisary, they are one of the most useful things in wakeskating and you should definantly use them.

Get a pair of DVS Triumphs on sale and you should be fine broseph

I picked up some Nike 6.0 Air Mogans at Dick's Sporting Goods on sale for $35. They look sick and work great as a wakeskate shoe.

why do you drill holes in them?

drill them holes to get the water out quicker- make ur shoes not slosh around and weigh 20 lbs. OR you can get yourself a pair of UGP Doyle/ Gauntlet wakeskate shoes that have holes pre-drilled in the bottom. They are also double-stitched throughout so they won't fall apart. Most skate shoes are glued together (glue+water don't mix) so they fall apart quick. These shoes will last and last and last. Doyle has been rockin his for over a year riding everyday- still looking & performing like brand new! check em out at Performance (perfski.com) or 407.859.7544. they have every size 5-12 in stock
