Transom Cup Ripped Off

Ripped my transom cup off surfiing and am looking for suggestions on what kind of compund to use as a selaer when I replace it. I'm afraid silicon will not be strong enough and 5200 too strong. Any suggestions?

I don't know what the transom cup is, but 3M 4200 is a sealant that is safe for below the waterline and not as permanent as 3M 5200.

Transom cups are the black things that go underneath the swim platform (at least on Nautiques) and prevent exhaust gas from rising up through the cutouts. They also cover the lifting loops on the transom.

I don't it was the surfing that ripped them off. They have a tendency to fall off after a few years. A friend of mine had this happen, and he doesn't do a lot of surfing if any at all over the last few years. The should be screwed on from the factory. You can glue them on as a fix, but I would try to get them screwed into place for a permanent fix.

Thanks, Wotan, I'm not sure if the surfing did it or not. I just noticed that it was gone when we got back from a day out. It could have fallen off when were wakeboarding.
