Looking to move to Nor Cal

Hey WW's, I am currently sending resumes out to construction companies out in Northern California. Hopefully by this spring things pick up in construction. I have been a General Contractor for the last 14 years with experience from the ground up.

I am a family man with a passion for this sport and would love to be able to ride year round. Let me know if anyone could help out with my quest for employment! I would even give tows! Send me a pm and I could forward a resume.

I love Nor Cal but things are really tough out here right now as far as work goes. I wish you the best of luck though.

Dan, you'll love norcal but like walt said, construction has been slow. my dad's been a general contractor for 25 years and he's been out of work for 6 months, portable classrooms are far and few and the housing.... ya.... he's optimistic about spring time though, i'll let him know a WW member could use some work when the economy rolls around

Thanks Taylor, I would love to live there and the only reason why I haven't moved was because the economy here in Colorado was so strong. Nor Cal would be perfect because of the Delta and also close to snowboarding. It is hard times all over the nation and now I feel as though its time to take action. I have been working in the oil field for the last 5 months with 8 total days off. Not too good for riding! I am sure I will see you guys by this summer, something has to pan out sooner or later.

There are plenty of oil refineries here in the Bay Area... If construction doesn't work out, maybe a refinery job would be a close second. If the refineries aren't hiring the sub-contracters are - oil is still strong in this down economy.

not sure i agree with that. oil's down 76% from a high of $147/barrel, and oil production is scaling down.

I just got into this to make ends meet and I just heard a couple of weeks ago that they are cutting 40% of production out here and I am sure that will branch nation wide. Besides, this type of work is easy but time consuming. I won't sacrifice my family, wakeboarding, snowboarding for this. But I will do what I have to until things open back up.
