Hey, I have a buddy stuck in idle mode on the lake right now. Listening to his problem I am pretty sure he got junk in the fresh water intake for the cooling system.
Can anyone tell me where the filter is so I can give him some help?

Thanks guys!

So what do you do if you suck junk up into the system?

I don't think either of the boats I've owned had a filter (mastercraft prostar, sanger v210). There's a bronze looking strainer under the boat to make sure you don't pull anything big in. Maybe swim under and see if it's plugged? Make sure the boat is off and you know what you're doing, there are skags, prop, strut, rudder, etc., under there you can get caught on. Better to pull it out and look.

Oh wow, both of my Mastercrafts (x2 2008 and x30 2013) have had a clear plastic canister with wire mesh basket inside that can be unscrewed and cleaned... Thought all boats had that...

Dang mossy balls. Get you every time!

Thanks for the shout out for help DT!

For future refs: the intake is just behind the drivers seat on the bottom of the boat, and it has a grate or strainer over it. I have not confirmed myself that there is no filter such as those on the MCs, but I will follow up with the results of my search!
