I have not tried these products, but I ordered the one for the point n shoot camera since it is low cost. Looking to do some shooting from the end of the towrope. I have an old point and shoot to try it out with.

Anyone tried anything similar?

Make your own. Mine cost me $20 to build. You can get all the parts at Lowes or Home Depot. Here's a link to how I built it.

If you're the do-it-yourself kinda person, it's a great, cheap way to go.

Coldlake,

The SLR link you posted looks like a low budget EWA bag.

Spencer,
Shooting through acrylic isn't going to do much for image quality.

WCW,
I agree. However, my camera is just a point and shoot digital, which in itself doesn't do much for image quality so I wasn't going to spend $100 plus for a housing. I'm not making high definition wakeboard movies...yet...just havin fun for as little cash as possible.

I thought of using glass instead of acrylic, but thought it might break too easily and didn't want to bother with cutting it. I've never had much luck with cutting glass.

Spencer, good video. Youtube popped up a couple other links, one for a $10 camcorder housing. I have a backup 8mmDig unit that I would be willing to play with, so maybe some more fun with video coming.

I tried the cheapo bag out, and it worked fine held underwater at the dock. After this weekend I'll post a coupla pics for fun.

If you want to keep it cheap, you can buy little point and shoot film cameras that come with a roll of film already in them and a water housing for $25. The cool thing is then all you have to do is buy film to put in it. The one I'm thinking of comes with a wrist strap just like a surf leash. It's pretty killer. Then wherever you get your pics developed just have them scan them to CD. Definitely the cheapest most fun way of doing it!

Bess,

Where can you get that??? I've only seen the disposable waterproof film ones and they're like $20 and you can only use it once. The one your talking about sounds sweet!

I bought mine at one of the disney water parks for $27 on a whim cause it was killer and I hadn't seen anything like it. I just found it online and it looks like if you were to buy it from the company its $45. Which is weird cause normally disney over prices things. So if I could get it at disney for $27 I'm thinking you should be able to find it for the same or less maybe somewhere online. Anywho, here is the link to check out the camera:

Hope that helps

Thanks Bess. Disney is over priced and that website is way over priced! Here's another site that has it for $19.95
