Quick (dumb) question: What material are the props made of? I have a '07 Malibu stock prop. I hit it over the weekend and need to get it machined somewhere. People ask me if it is metal or stainless. I feel like an idiot. What is it?

probably Nibral....Nickle Brass Aluminum mixture.

If it's a bronze color that's what it is, if it's shiny (polished) it's stainless.

Thanks- I believe it is the Nibral based on a few things. I just need to figure out how to get it fixed.... damn.

Thanks

your dealer should have a prop shop handy. but you don't want to get "dinged" for it twice. sorry, had to... If its not major, they should be able to reheat/reshape it. just depends on who you want take it to.

You have a spare tire on your car? Get a spare prop and a weekend saver kit (prop changing tools and parts) for your boat. www.boarditup.com
