can somebody demonstrate to me how water would rush into the exhaust below the water line, then up above the water line to the exhaust manifolds when there are spent gases that are being expelled? Also, if you own a Mastercraft or a Malibu w/ stainless steel exhaust tips, you must be in danger of sucking water through three feet of exhaust into your engine. if there was a danger of damaging your engine w/o running them, the MC and Malibu wouldnt offer stainless tips w/o flappers as an option.
sorry for the smart ace comments, but that flapper is open all the time when the engine is running, no matter what direction you are going in, otherwise you would not be expelling gases, and the engine would die...and water actually circulates through your exhaust and out the hole in the rear in order to keep the exhaust cool.
