well the w6v2 runs about 350 on ebay and the w7 runs about 500 i think. i chose the w6v2 because the box required isn't as big and its output and impact it had was awesome. the W7 is a step ahead but not that big of a step for that extra premium price

I've always heard from comp audio guys that the w7 is a true competition sub not designed to be played at volume for extended periods of time. The w6 or the solobaric have always been at the top of my list.

Kicker Soloberic L7 12's pound hard. If you are looking for bass that you can honestly feel they are great. Also, I bought mine at a 2 for 1 special day so I am a lil bias based on price.

You cannot beat JL's performance. W1V2 is a good choice for the money, outperforms the W3V2 for less money. 12W6V2 is hard to beat for the money but the W7 is louder, plays lower, and all around has a bigger presence in any system. You need to run a minimum 1000 watts per woofer though.

Solobaric L7, I have one in my nautique and it hits real hard. You can snag one on ebay for a pretty good price too.

Check out DD (Digital Designs). I just had Chucktronics in Lodi, CA. install one w/a custom enclosure under my dash (which is difficult in a SAN) for $550.00 including enclosure. Speaker alone would have been around $240.00. I'm pretty handy (contractor) but I'm REALLY happy I had them build the box as well. I've NEVER had better customer service either.

Hard to say what is "best". Most are looking for good sound, but do not want to spend much (I did not want to either). I researched (and listened to) many brands. I ended up going with Eclipse (not sure what model, but a 12"), and had a really nice box built. Paid about $700 for the sub, and a ton to have the enclosure made. Sounds like it too! Very happy!

Quality is going to be subjective since the top line of any company is going to be loud. I personally am a huge fan of Diamond Audio. W7 is a awesome sub too, and is very durable. If you want a lot of volume RE makes a sub called the XXX that is loud with enough power and a large ported box. I would reccomend something local and a plug if you will but magnolia hi-fi has protection coverage for their subs for like $20 or $40 and it covers the sub for 4 years, meaning if you blow it or any damage thats not self inflicted they will replace it free of charge, which seems like in a boat would be a nice thing to have.

W6 is a working mans sub, not a show sub. I recommend it. It will spank with too little power or too much, under extreme conditions. It's clean and mean and not too far between.
