i've been watching riders like rathey, errington and others throwing down everything known to man on their 135 state this week at owc so i had to get one the only problem i'm undecieded on what fin setup. rathey rides his with .8,errington finless and mike conner rides the 140 finless. they ship with 1.1. any help would help my head from hurting!

so you bought a wakeboard because others ride well on it, and now you are asking everyone what fins you should put on it? do you want us to ride it for you, too?

my suggestion is to ride it a few times with the fins and see how you like it. if you dont like it, then remove fins and try that out. if that doesnt work then get a .7" fin.

its kinda funny how people paid no attention at all to liberation's asym board, but when hype makes an asym people call it "stupid good." oh, the power of marketing...

i was just wondering if any other riders had a chance to try different fins on the state board. the fins aren't cheap and because my dad is still trying to sell the jet i'm a little short of cash! i did have a chance to demo it before i bought it so that how i made my decision. just wondering after watcching others with different setups. what's this liberation board and do they have a demo program?

Yep, Liberation is available in the good old USA, we acutually build them here in Denver, CO in our own factory! Check out our web site, we will be updating it soon with all the new 2005 products. We expanded the Liberator line to include a 135 asym board and we reshaped it a bit as well.

After I got to take a ride on the state I was able to have a quick chat with Mike about the design and he said he designed it with the 1.1 fin in mind or finless. So I would say start there then work out what you like.

The State is sick and its readily available. People bashing HL is getting old. Get a board and ride it, doesn't matter who makes it. If Liberation was available locally I'd try one of those too, but until then HL has a really good warranty and has been compareable to anything I've ridden.

About the State....My opinion is that you definitely don't neeed fins unless you are looking for a really locked in feel. This also comes from someone that rides anything finless if possible. I like the substance and Premier finnless and would occasionally ride my '01 Byerly (no molded fins) finless. Anyway, IMO, you don't need fins. Try it that way and work from there. The factory fins are really overkill. If you want something I'd go with .7's
